SCIENCE MUSEUM TRIP πŸ•πŸ”¬

Our Inspire Scholars had a fantastic trip to the London Science Museum on 21st July, where they explored exhibitions on medicine through time, space, engineering and genetics. The visit encouraged curiosity, broadened their understanding of STEM subjects and all students represented the school brilliantly throughout the day.

SCIENCE CLUB β˜€οΈπŸ”¬

Our final Science Club of the year was a wonderfully messy one as students made oobleck! Using just cornflour and water, students created fascinating non-newtonian fluid that behaves like both a liquid and a solid. The students had great fun experimenting with its unusual properties, squeezing it into a solid shape before watching it flow through their fingers. It was a fantastic hands-on activity to finish the term!

🌍 INSPIRE SCHOLARS

This week, our Inspire Scholars group came together for their final extra-curricular session of the year. Students explored the social and political impacts of global warming, discussing how environmental challenges affect communities around the world and the role individuals, governments and organisations play in creating a more sustainable future.

Well done to all our Inspire Scholars for their enthusiasm, curiosity and thoughtful contributions throughout the programme this year. πŸ‘

NOVOTEL TRIP - MONDAY 20TH JULY

Students who secured a place on the Year 9 Hospitality Trip enjoyed a valuable insight into the diverse opportunities within the hospitality industry during their visit to Novotel Southampton this week.

Throughout the day, students gained hands-on experience in a range of hospitality roles. They worked in the kitchen preparing treats for the group, took part in bartending and drink mixology activities, and developed presentation and customer service skills that contribute to creating a welcoming guest experience.

A huge thank you to Solent Careers Hub and Novotel Southampton for supporting this event and for their continued partnership as we look forward to working together next year as part of the Hospitality Connect Programme.
