The children jumped straight into fun happily scooping blue rice, pouring it from cup to cup, and guiding tiny ocean animals through their pretend underwater world. Their imaginations turned the rice into waves, sand, and sea.
At the water tray, the excitement kept flowing. They splashed and explored blue water play, testing which cups floated or sank and using spoons and containers to scoop, fill, pour, and empty. Every splash felt like a new discovery.
Over at the art table, creativity took over. With blue paint, brushes, and even their hands, the children created their own ocean masterpieces with swirling waves and tiny bubbles.

Environment Day was full of adventure as the children explored the garden and the world around them. They wandered through the grass, spotting tiny daisies and buttercups popping up. They giggled as they squeezed themselves between the big tree trunks playing hide and seek with their peers.
In the mud kitchen, imagination took over. Using natural treasures like leaves, sticks, mud, and flowers, the children cooked up pretend soups and dinner. Every scoop and stir was a new idea and a new recipe.
They also noticed the changing weather the breeze, the clouds, the warm sun peeking through.

Hedgehogs have been continuing to refine their snipping skills by snipping both natural materials and paper. They have been talking about the colours and shapes of the natural materials as they snip them, comparing the different greens they can see.
In the water tray they have been thinking about creatures that live in the sea and how we need to keep our waters safe for them. In the play dough they have been using their imagination to create our own fantasy creatures.

In the Foxes’ base the children have been talking about under the sea and saving our planet!
Learning activities have included; playing a fish matching game with patterns and counting, dressing up as pirates and looking for treasure under the sea, re-using bottle lids to make creative sea creatures, refining our fine motor skills using tweezers and pom poms and practising our rolling and cutting with the play dough. The children have had a wonderful week!

🐋🐳 Happy World Ocean Day!
The children in Foxes and Hedgehogs have loved learning about different creatures that live in the sea on ‘World Ocean Day’. They created wonderful sea creatures including jellyfish, octopus, etc
The children have also been learning facts about these. Did you know that octopus have multiple hearts and blue blood! One of our fantastic children even taught us the Spanish for a jellyfish - ‘medusa!’
