The first platform I ever built was on a Continuous Belay tree course in 2015... and it took hours😂

Believe it or not, there still isn’t a qualification that makes you a high ropes constructor.

Like most people in this industry, I’ve learned through experience, making mistakes, and working alongside people who knew more than me. That’s still the best education you can get.

That said, there are plenty of qualifications that help build your knowledge and make you a better constructor like IPAF, CSCS Card etc.

Inspector qualifications such as OIMC, Wire Rope and Wood Pole inspector give you essential knowledge of how the different components should work and more importantly what they look like when displaying issues.

Networking and conferences provide an opportunity to meet others, watch demonstrations, ask questions and get hands on.

Lastly, working on ropes courses. Being an instructor builds your knowledge of how the activities should run and what improvements can be made during construction.

At the end of the day, nothing replaces time on the tools, learning from experienced builders, and continuously improving your craft.

What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned on site? 👇

A weekend of adventure, fatigue and team work… plus a sprinkle of type 2 fun ✨

Having climbed in the mountains for years, I’ve never had such luck with the weather 😂

Have you completed the 3peaks challenge?

Keep your eyes peeled for more corporate challenges on our website.

Evening dash out to Mersea Island last week for this inspection.

Not your traditional low ropes course - this one incorporates a fully wheelchair accessible section. Is it the first accessible low ropes course in the UK? 🤔

Great to see accessible adventures being built - congrats to the builder and centre for leading the way
