BBC News - Record number of severely obese children https://lnkd.in/gNE5RhP We can’t keep denying that our traditional response does not encapsulate the complexity of the problem, i.e. short term, isolated and quick fix solutions have failed and will continue to fail. At EduMove, we are proud to be a commissioned partner of the Isle of Wight Partnership for Education, Attainment and Children’s Health (PEACH). PEACH is a comprehensive partnership response and ‘whole-school’ framework that aims to support the development of the ‘Whole-Child’ within, and through Isle of Wight primary schools. A realistic response must focus on a cultural shift in physical activity and nutrition.

Record number of severely obese children One in 25 children fell into the category when they left primary school last year, figures show.

We are excited to invite teachers, college tutors and coaching practitioners the Physically Active Teaching & Learning (PATL) CPD to held on 17th July (9am to 5 pm) at Solent University.
The CPD which was recently accredited by the Association for PE (AfPE) and The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) will empower participants with knowledge and skills to use fun physical activities to simultaneously promote learning (and attainment), health and emotional well-being for all children. This CPD is timely and perfectly aligned to current policies on childhood obesity, mental health and crucial for meeting Ofsted creteria for physical activity, Maths & English. Saints Foundation has already signed up and is sending all its Premier League Primary Stars staff to attend this CPD.
