🎶 Music Reward Trip to Oxford – 9 June 2026 🎶
On Tuesday 9 June 2026, GCSE Music students, orchestra members and other interested pupils enjoyed a fantastic reward trip to Oxford.
We travelled by minibus to the musical instrument collections at the University of Oxford, now based in the new Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities. Students took part in two inspiring workshops, Music Through the Ages and Indonesian Gamelan Orchestra.
The group also enjoyed a short visit to the Ashmolean Museum, exploring world-class art and archaeology collections that tell human stories across cultures and time.
A great day of live music-making, cultural exploration, and reward for commitment to Music!

🌱 Our Eco Reps have been busy on the roof garden this morning, planting seeds as part of our exciting partnership with the University of Southampton and the Royal Society of Biology's Seed Project.
The project aims to investigate crops that are not widely grown at present but have the potential to play an important role in the future, helping researchers understand whether they could be successfully cultivated more widely across the UK.
Our students have planted a variety of seeds, including buckwheat, chickpeas, lablab, peas, sunflowers and sweetcorn. Over the coming weeks and months, they will be monitoring their growth and contributing valuable data to this important research project.
We look forward to sharing updates on their progress and seeing which crops thrive on our Roof Garden! 🌿🌻🌽

What an incredible achievement from our Duke of Edinburgh students!
Before half term, 25 students completed their practice expedition in the New Forest, trekking an impressive 14 miles over two days. Starting at Milford Bridge, they navigated their route to Tile Barn in Brockenhurst, where they pitched their own tents and prepared their evening meals using Trangia stoves.
After an overnight camp, they packed up their equipment and completed the second stage of their journey, finishing at Pig Bush on Sunday.
The expedition provided valuable experience in navigation, teamwork, resilience and self-sufficiency, all of which will be put into practice during their assessed expedition in two weeks' time.
We are incredibly proud of their determination, enthusiasm and positive attitude throughout the weekend. Good luck to all of our participants as they prepare for their assessment expedition!

On Friday after school, we gathered together to celebrate our wonderful Year 13 students as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their journey. It was also a special moment as our outgoing Head Girls officially handed over the baton to our new Head Girls.
We would like to thank our outgoing student leaders for all they have given to our school community through their leadership, commitment and service — they have been excellent role models throughout their time with us.
We wish all of our Year 13 students every success in their upcoming exams and look forward to seeing all they go on to achieve.
