Success looks different for every student. For Hugh, it meant developing the confidence to present his nursing research in Nottingham... which led to later being invited to speak at an international conference in Boston, USA!

At Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, it’s not all about the qualifications our students walk away with. We focus on the support given to them, the opportunities they’re presented with and helping them to discover quite what they’re capable of.

Why are we still accepting late applications? Because not every student thrives with a long daily commute, or the hustle and bustle of a large campus.

If you've started college elsewhere and it's not quite the right fit, you still have options.

At Richard Taunton Sixth Form College we're small by design, ambitious by nature. That means you'll be part of a supportive community where our experienced team knows students as individuals and helps them achieve their goals.

A shorter journey can mean more time for friends, hobbies and studying, and a calmer environment can help you focus on what matters most: your future.

We still have a limited number of places available for this year, but late applications will be closing soon. If you're looking for a college closer to home, with the support to help you succeed, apply today to be invited in next week.

Didn't get the grades for your first choice of college? Your story doesn't end there. In fact, it could be the start of something even better.

When Florrie opened her GCSE results, she realised her original plan had changed. Richard Taunton Sixth Form College wasn't her first choice, but two years later she left with an unconditional offer to Performers College and a leading role in Carrie: The Musical. She described her time with us as "a very positive surprise", finding a fresh start, supportive teachers and the confidence to be herself.

If you're still unsure about your next step, you're not alone. That's why we're extending enrolment to give students and families more time to make the right decision for their future.

Whether your results weren't what you hoped for, you've changed your mind about your college choice, or you simply needed more time to decide, we're here to help you find a pathway that works for you.

Sometimes your second choice turns out to be the best choice. Apply today to be invited in for a chat.

At Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, we help students build confidence, improve their Maths and English grades, and progress onto the Level 3 courses they're passionate about.

We spoke to two students collecting their results last week:

⭐ Oliver studied GCSE Maths alongside Level 2 Law and Public Services. After feeling disappointed with his results last year, he worried he was wasting a year by resitting. Looking back, he recognises it wasn't about ability. Managing multiple exams at once had made him anxious and affected his concentration. This year, he felt much more confident, achieved the grades he needed, and is now progressing to Level 3 Criminology, Psychology and Music Technology. His ambition is to become a therapist, and he's excited to study subjects he genuinely loves.

⭐ Ellie combined GCSE English with a Level 2 Childcare programme. She loved her time at college and says studying a subject she enjoyed made a real difference. Focusing on one GCSE resit, rather than juggling nine subjects, helped her feel prepared for exam season. Although she felt ready, she was still delighted to discover she'd passed. Ellie is now progressing to a T Level in Childcare and hopes to become a Teaching Assistant before eventually training as a teacher.

If your young person didn't achieve the GCSE grades they hoped for, a resit year could be the opportunity they need to rebuild confidence, gain qualifications and prepare for a successful future.
