Music at Southampton

Live music! Snacks! Karaoke! You can have it all at the Music Department’s BIG MUSIC SOCIAL 2 on March 18 at the Brook. Performances by student bands Copacetic (with special guests), Rhys Rowland & Mount Davis, and The Monday Grooves, with Karaoke in between. Wowza, it’s gonna be a BLAST.

Organised by students & staff, our annual 'A Christmas Concert' ends our season with a bang with brilliant performances anð lots of fun! 👏 👏 🥳

What a brilliant week of concerts, workshops, and a launch!

Our student singers & conductors had the pleasure of working with BBC Singers & James Weeks.

We had performances from the BBC Singers, Valentina Seferinova & Duncan Honeybourne playing pieces by faculty composers Liz Gre, Composer Drew Crawford & Benjamin Oliver.

And we launched the new & exciting Centre for Music Education and Social Southampton Centre for Music Education and Social Justice hub for engagment with music research.

The Department of Music at the University of Southampton invites applications for the post of Grant Manager for the AHRC Hub for Public Engagement with Music Research .

This is a 20-month fixed-term appointment on a 0.2 FTE (one day a week) basis, with a start date of 1 November 2024. Remote working is feasible although the role will require attending and/or organising in-person events.
