Southampton Public Health Nursing Service

The first contact you will have with the service is when your child first starts school in Reception where a entrant health check is offered for your child, which is a height, weight, vision and hearing check. If there are any problems we will let you know and can refer onto other health services if needed. Through out the time the child or young person is at school or college they can have access to the service. In secondary school and colleges young people can self refer themselves into the service. In secondary schools and colleges we have emotional health and well-being workers that support young people with emotional needs.
