📚 Secondary School Open Evenings 📚

We’d like to remind families that local secondary schools will be holding their Open Evenings over the coming weeks. These events are a great opportunity to:

👋 Meet staff and current pupils
🏫 Explore the school and its facilities
📖 Find out more about the curriculum and enrichment opportunities
❓ Ask questions and learn more about the admissions process

We encourage parents and carers of children approaching secondary school age to take the opportunity to visit schools, gather information and find the setting that feels right for your child.

New Books for Year 5! 📚

Year 5 have been delighted to receive some exciting new books for their book corners! They have enjoyed exploring the new collection, sharing their favourites with friends and discovering new stories and authors. We hope these books will help to nurture a love of reading and encourage the children to read widely, regularly and for pleasure throughout the year. The children are already excited to get started!

🌟 What a fantastic start to Year 3! 🌟

We have been so impressed with how wonderfully our Year 3 children have settled into life at Ludlow Junior School. They have been kind, respectful and have tried incredibly hard with all of their learning. 💙

The children have also made a brilliant effort with their joined handwriting, and their presentation in their books has been excellent. ✏️📚

We have explored what makes a complete sentence, and the children were able to confidently explain the features in their written work. In maths, we used part-whole models to identify the tens and ones in different numbers. 🔢

Well done, Year 3! 👏 We are so proud of you and can't wait to see all the amazing things you achieve this year. It's going to be a great one! 🌟

🔢 Year 6 Maths!

Today, Year 6 met their maths teachers and began exploring numbers up to one million. They thought carefully about place value columns and partitioning, before beginning to apply these skills to a range of word problems.

A fantastic start — and we’ll be building on these skills over the coming lessons! 🌟

🚀 What a fantastic start to Year 5! 🌍✨

In just their first two days, the children have already blasted off into our Space Project! They have been researching the planets in our solar system, creating informative fact files and designing their very own Top Trumps cards. 🌎🪐⭐

We’ve been impressed by their enthusiasm, creativity and curiosity as they begin their exciting journey through space! 🚀

Year 4 launched their new school year in style yesterday with a fascinating visit from a real-life palaeontologist, Dr. Neil Gostling! 🧠🔍

Dr. Gostling shared his incredible knowledge about dinosaurs and their unique features, answering lots of curious questions from the children and sparking their imaginations. The real highlight was looking at some amazing fossils up close — a truly unforgettable experience!

This exciting hook has inspired us to dive deep into our new English unit, where children will be researching, designing, and creating informative and eye-catching dinosaur infographics. We can't wait to see the creativity and curiosity this project brings out!

A huge thank you to Dr. Gostling for helping us bring the prehistoric world to life! 🌍🦴

If you’re posting online, please consider covering or blurring the Ludlow Junior School logo on jumpers, cardigans, PE kits or school bags.

👕 School uniform and logos can sometimes identify where a child goes to school. Taking a moment to hide the logo is a simple way to help protect your child’s privacy and keep them safer online.
