On Wednesday 3rd June, we had a visit from 3 very special guests who joined the children and our families for an afternoon picnic

🌟Staff announcement🌟

We’re excited to welcome two new faces to the team from Tuesday 5th May.

Sarah, who many of you may already recognise from the nursery Flex team, is stepping into a more permanent role within City. She will be working across all age groups, with a primary focus on our Toddlers and Pre-school rooms.

We would also like to warmly welcome Mel, who joins us as the nursery’s Deputy Manager. Mel brings a wealth of experience, particularly in supporting children with special educational needs.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the Southampton FA Cup bus visit this morning. With the sun shining, they had a fantastic time sitting on both the lower and upper decks, singing “The Wheels on the Bus” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

In preschool, we explored the changing seasons and talked about how the weather can shift from warm to cold. To help us cool down and bring this idea to life, we created a fun snow sensory play activity. The children were very interested and engaged as they explored the “snow,” adding people to create their own small worlds. This led to conversations about how people live in different places around the world, where some countries are hot while others are cold. We also talked about how these differences can affect the types of homes people live in and even the kinds of cars they use. It was a wonderful way to combine sensory play with learning about the world around us.

We’re delighted to announce a well-deserved promotion — congratulations to Katy on becoming Joint Third-in-Charge alongside Clare.

Katy will continue overseeing the Toddlers room while also taking on a broader role supporting the leadership team. We’re incredibly proud of her achievement and look forward to seeing her thrive in this new position.

We are thrilled to announce that on Friday, 1st May, the 1976 Southampton FA Cup final bus will be visiting the nursery.
