🍊🍋Oranges and lemons🍋 🍊
The children thoroughly enjoyed our citrus fruit sensory play. It was a great way to help build their fine motor skills by squeezing the fruit to release the juices. The aromas were divine!

🧸 Teddy Bears Picnic 🧸

The children showed great engagement as they joined in with our Teddy Bears Picnic. They were excited to have snack and their lunch outside on the grass area and in the courtyard.
During snack time the children practiced their manners by saying and completing the makaton signs for “Please and Thank you”. We shared the following bear stories
“Bear goes to the dump”, “big bear, little bear”, “whatever next” and “cant you sleep little bear”
We learned the “Teddy Bears Picnic song”, created bears using paint and sorted/weighed the different size bear figures.
The children loved bringing in their favourite Teddy from home.

🔢Maths week🔢

We helped the children develop their understanding of maths through play, stories and singing.
We provided activities to develop their counting, shapes, capacity, size and discovering patterns, they learned that maths is all around us.

Thank you Tiny Trots for taking the time to visit Smiles with Lemon Drop 💛 for our Farm week.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience, they talked about it for the rest of the day.

🌱Gardening Week🌱
As part of gardening week the children were given the opportunity to plant flowers in our pots.
This activity is a great way for the children to connect with nature and for them to be able see the lifecycle of a flower.
The children are aware of their responsibilities to help the flowers grow, they place them in the sun and ensure they are watered daily.
We have talked about how many flowers may bloom, the colours and whether they will be big or small.
