Form 2 enjoyed a geography field trip to the Hamble River. En route, they spotted plenty of human geography as they travelled through Portswood and along the M27. Luckily they dodged a short shower while sketching the physical geography from the river shore and were excited to see the famous Pink Ferry in action.
Next, they visited Pickwell Farm Shop, where they saw land used to grow food and picked some rhubarb to take back and taste.
In DT, they have been learning about where food comes from, and they enjoyed reading labels on food and finding out where they had been imported from.
They bought locally grown Hampshire strawberries, which they enjoyed back at school. What a treat! 🍓

Year 3/4 had a very enjoyable time at the Seacity museum, learning all about the Titanic and its local links with Southampton. Some children dressed up as passengers and crew from the ship, whilst others stoked the engines and steered the wheel! The children enjoyed a workshop, handling artefacts, experimenting with sinking a ship in water and smelling aromas from the Titanic times! The museum tour helped consolidate this term’s exciting about the famous ship!
