Occupational Therapy students took on the challenge of sharing their research projects in just three minutes at this year’s Occupational Therapy Student Conference.

Prizes were awarded across categories including Most Innovative Project, Best Storytelling and Best Contribution to OT Practice, with the overall winner’s award going to Jessica Deeks

Reusable catheters a safe choice that could save NHS millions 21/05/2026

Reusable catheters are just as safe for patients as single-use ones and do not increase the risk of urinary tract infections, a new study has found.

Researchers from the School of Health Sciences followed hundreds of patients for a year to measure the health impact of reusable intermittent urinary catheters against single-use ones.

They discovered that those who tested reusable catheters used 35 per cent fewer antibiotics compared to their single-use only counterparts.

The NIHR THERMO-CARE project is exploring cost-effective interventions to improve heat resilience in hospitals.
