✏️ Is handwriting a worry for you as a parent?

“Why is their writing so messy?”
“Why do they struggle to hold a pencil?”
“Why do they get tired so quickly?”

The thing is… handwriting doesn’t actually start with handwriting! 👀

Children need to develop their hand and finger muscles, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, posture and core strength first.

And you can build these skills through simple activities at home:

🖐️ Playdough – squeeze, pinch & roll
🧺 Pegs – pick up small objects
✂️ Cutting & sticking
🧱 Lego & building
🖍️ Drawing on a vertical surface
🧵 Threading beads or pasta
🌳 Climbing, crawling & outdoor play

After a lovely summer, it’s time for new beginnings, fresh starts and another year of learning, growing and making memories. 💛

Whether your child is excited, nervous, somewhere in between — remember that every feeling is completely normal. 🌈

To all the children returning to school this week:

⭐ Believe in yourself
⭐ Be kind to yourself and others
⭐ Try your best
⭐ Don’t be afraid to ask for help
⭐ And most importantly… enjoy it!
