A BIG well done to our Year 6 students this week who have faced their SATS with resilience & courage! We are so proud!
Lots of smiles at our special breakfast this week and an inflatables and ice cream morning tomorrow! π
Foundry Lane Primary School
This is the official page of Foundry Lane Primary School.
A message we gave our Y6 pupils last night π Mrs L x
To our wonderful Year 6 pupils:
Tomorrow is your chance to show just how far youβve come β¨
Not just in scores,
or spellings,
or fractions and factsβ¦
but in resilience, kindness, courage and growth. π
You have learned through wobblers,
laughed through mistakes,
kept going when things felt tricky,
and surprised yourselves time and time again. π
SATs do not measure your creativity,
your humour,
your kindness,
your determination,
or the way you make people feel.
They are simply one small moment in your story. π
So tonightβ¦
take a deep breath,
get a good sleep,
and remember:
You are ready.
You are capable.
And every single adult in school is already incredibly proud of you. β¨
Tomorrow, just do your best β
that has always been enough. π

A HUGE well done to everyone from our community who took part in the Marathon festival over the weekend - especially those of you who were raising money for our Friends Committee!
I had the pleasure of watching my sister at different points during the race and it was a brilliant atmosphere. An extra big well done to Marnie who did the 10k for Foundry Lane!

Weβve had a lovely first week back at school β it was so nice to see everyoneβs smiling faces at the gate each morning! π
It has also been lovely to see our new Year R list for next year! We are looking forward to welcoming current and new families into Year R!β€οΈ
Year R became historians π« and went for a walk around the school, looking for objects that showed how the school has changed since it was founded in 1902 and how key moments in its history have been commemorated.
Year 1 learnt about capacity in maths π by using water π§ and a range of different-sized containers.
Year 2 have loved being creative π¨ and finishing off our art topic on flower heads πΈ. This week, we made flower heads using wax paper and coffee filters, decorating them with red, blue and yellow food colouring. We also created flower head sculptures from paper plates in the style of Yayoi Kusama, inspired by her love of polka dots π΄π΅.
Year 3 enjoyed fantastic outdoor learning πΏ with Steve, building hazel fences using ancient weaving techniques as part of their art topic.
Year 4 also went out with Steve to re-create the processes of the water cycle π§βοΈ to conclude their Geography unit. Although they ended up a bit soggy, they had a great time! π
Year 5 have started their exciting history topic, Groundbreaking Greeks! πΊ They explored historical timelines, comparing the seven eras of Ancient Greece with what was happening in Britain and across the rest of the world at the same time.
Year 6 have been working hard on their ski brochures β·οΈ, showing a real understanding of their audience and purpose, and carefully considering how to make them engaging and attractive to the reader.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend! π

Many many thanks to everyone at Foundry Lane for your kind words, hugs, cards and presents, as I said my goodbyes last week. I have had the BEST 24 years at Foundry Lane and that's down to the most wonderful children, their families, and the staff I have been lucky enough to work with. Foundry Lane is a special community that I will always cherish. Sending everyone kindness and love for the future. Mrs Phillips xx
A Thank You from My Classroom Heart
To the children... As I pack away my pens and books,
And tidy up the shelves,
I think of all the memories
Weβve made here as ourselves.
Thereβs Beaky the Bird who joined our fun,
Watching lessons come and go,
And dance routines in church,
Where our confidence would grow.
Our school trips full of laughter,
With adventure every day,
And my love of penguins proudly shared
In more lessons than Iβll say!
The pupil leaders group
With their ideas great and true,
Like Foundry Laneβs Got Talent
Where stars appearedβlike you.
We marched with smiles in the Rainbow Parade,
Bright colours leading the way,
Proving school can be a place
Where we all shine every day.
Now to staff... Thank you for helping me with tech issues,
For our laughs, and dress up days
For your love, care and compassion
For lunch duties and wet plays!
Because in every smile and helping hand,
In every child we guide,
This school is full of wonderful people
Working side by side.
And as we journey, wherever we go,
Through every path in life we find,
Thereβs one small thing I stand for
And that's the gift of being kind.
Though new adventures wait ahead
And different paths may start,
Foundry Lane will always stay,
A bright place in my heart.
π£πΌ Happy Easter to all our families celebrating today! πΌπ£
We hope you have had a lovely day filled with joy, laughter and maybe a little chocolate too! π«β¨
Whether you have been spending time with family, heading out on an Easter egg hunt, attending church or simply enjoying a well-earned rest, we hope it has been a special one π
From all of us at school, Happy Easter! π°π·
It has been a wonderfully busy half term here at Foundry Lane! π
Year 4 have been making a splash with their swimming πββοΈ, while Year 5 have been busy making soup π₯£ and learning all about where our food comes from ππ₯. Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Tudor House ποΈ, and our Year R children had a brilliant visit to the farm ππ.
Year 3 had a very exciting sleepover (or wake-over! ππ), and Year 2 have loved their paired reading sessions with Year 6 ππ«. Meanwhile, our Year 6 pupils have been exploring how humans have adapted and evolved over time π§¬π±.
What a fantastic half term it has been! π
Wishing everyone who is celebrating over the Easter period a happy, restful and fun-filled time π£πΌπ
On Friday, we said our goodbyes to Mrs Phillips with a special shared assembly filled with singing πΆ, games π² and poetry βοΈ. A huge thank you to Mrs DL for joining us during her parental leave and dressing up as the Easter Bunny β we can always rely on you to bring the fun! π°β¨
We wish Mrs Phillips every happiness in her new role as Headteacher of Chandlers Ford Infants π«. We know that Foundry Lane will always hold a special place in your heart, just as you will in ours π

A wonderful Easter service that truly reflected the very best of our community spirit. β¨
Well done to our Year 3 and 4 pupils who performed so confidently, and to our Year 5 children for expertly managing the technical elementsβsuch a team effort.
It was also a special moment as we said a fond farewell to Mrs Phillips, wishing her every success and happiness as she begins her exciting new journey into headship. π
β¨ Eid Mubarak β¨
Wishing all of our families celebrating this evening and tomorrow a peaceful and joyful Eid.
May this special time be filled with love, reflection and togetherness. π
