• R O A D• S A F E T Y• 🚘🚦

This morning Pre-School have been practicing their road safety skills in preparation for lots of upcoming walks in the next few weeks. Pre school loved going out on the bikes and learning about why it is important to stop at a zebra crossing, traffic lights and main road and why we have to stop and look both ways. Pre-school also suggested holding hands was a way to keep each other safe.

Once Pre-School were finished on the bikes they made sure they tidy the bikes away and then headed back inside to explore a tray that Jess put together that had all the sights they may see when they’re either walking or in the car.

With continued hot weather being a hot topic on the news and in homes , some of our children had some questions regarding the wild fires and the heatwaves. The staff and children had a chat about how to keep safe in this hot weather and how we can help the environment. The children really wanted a go at being fire fighters for a day so that’s exactly we did! Please meet our latest recruits 🔥

R I S I N G • F O U R S • W A L K
Today Rising Fours went on a walk through Holly Hill down to the Marina! ⚓️⛵️
We practiced good road safety and made sure to stop, look, and listen for cars coming.
We decided to play a game while on our walk, keeping a look out for lots of different things: squirrels, deer, dogs, boats, and bin lorries! Once down at the Marina we saw all kinds of different boats, speedboats, sailboats, rowing boats, big boats, and small boats 🛶🛥️🚤
We found a lovely spot to have our lunch with a beautiful view of the water and we could say hello to anyone passing by!
On our way back we stopped in Holly Hill to have a snack and a well earned rest, before looking for the stepping stones and heading back to nursery.

I C E C R E A M • P I E

Today is national Ice cream pie day so obviously we just had to celebrate such a delicious day ! Our Woodlands Also Busy Bees helped create an ice cream pie station using coloured salt to make their favourite flavours. They were able to scoop , pour , fill and spoon on the cones… yummy!

Sometimes you just need to get a bit messy!! …
Our Worker Bees have been getting stuck in to the messy trays , using their imaginations to create different themes for their friends to explore. With a little help from the teachers they created a flower garden to water and a sandpit construction site !

• A • DAY • AT • THE • BEACH •
This morning some of our baby bee’s got busy exploring a beach scene messy tray. They had so much fun exploring the different textures and helping the small world people explore the beach and take a swim with the sea animals. 🏖️🚤🐙

A few of our babies have been to the beach recently due the the warm weather and so they had lots of fun recreating what they had been getting up to and linking it with our activity!! Well done baby bee’s🐝🐬

R A I N B O W 🌈
Can you make a rainbow ? Our Worker Bees made their own rainbows using the coloured water , cotton wool pads and pipettes! They discussed the different colours and other objects that match . They also discussed what is their favourite colour. Well done Worker Bees 🐝

AFTERNOON• AT• HOLLY •HILL🐝☀️
This afternoon some of our busy bees went on an adventure to the field next to Holly Hill park. Whilst we were there our very excited busy bees had a picnic style snack and some refreshing water to cool down in the heat. 💧After their snack, the busy bees picked some blackberries to take back with them and used the to make some beautiful blackberry pictures🎨

This morning Baby Bees, Busy Bees and Pre-School went out on a sibling walk to the duck pond. Pre-School loved seeing their younger brothers and sisters and took extra good care of them too. We enjoyed snack and water in the orchard and even picked some apples to take back to nursery. We then made a pit stop to the duck pond to say hi to all the ducks and ducklings. Everyone enjoyed spending the morning together and Pre-School and Busy Bees even had time for a little run around before heading back to nursery!
