A huge thank you to everyone who joined the 42nd Emergency Physician's ECG Course (EPEC) – Live Virtual Course yesterday.

It was a privilege to spend the day learning alongside more than 75 clinicians from a wide range of specialties, including Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Critical Care, Anaesthesia, Prehospital Care, and General Practice.

Our global classroom brought together participants from:

🇬🇧 England | 🏴 Wales | 🏴 Scotland | 🇮🇪 Ireland | 🇫🇷 France | 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia | 🇦🇪 UAE | 🇪🇬 Egypt | 🇵🇸 Palestine | 🇵🇰 Pakistan

Throughout the day, we worked through real-life ECG cases, explored advanced interpretation strategies, and discussed practical approaches to ACS, arrhythmias, syncope, and other emergency presentations. The goal remains the same: helping frontline clinicians make faster, safer, and more confident clinical decisions.

▶️ Course recordings are now available for all attendees, allowing you to revisit the content and consolidate your learning over the coming month.

I've already started receiving your feedback, and I am genuinely grateful for the kind words and support. Seeing clinicians apply what they have learned in practice is what makes all the hard work worthwhile.

📅 Save the date

The next EPEC Live Virtual Course will take place on 21st September 2026.

Registration is now open, and waiting list members will receive priority access.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended the RCEM ACP Conference 2026 in Manchester last week.

It was a real privilege to contribute to such a fantastic event and spend time with so many passionate ACPs from across the UK.

I thoroughly enjoyed delivering my session on LVAD emergencies and discussing some of the high-risk presentations that can be particularly challenging in the Emergency Department.

One of the things I enjoy most about conferences is the opportunity to learn from others, exchange ideas, and have meaningful conversations with clinicians who are equally passionate about improving patient care. This conference certainly delivered on all fronts.

For those who attended the session, or for anyone interested in the topic, I have made my presentation, along with a summary of the key learning points, available via the link below or through the QR code in this post:

A special thank you to the RCEM ACP Faculty and the organising team for their hard work in delivering such a valuable and well-organised event.

I left Manchester inspired, energised, and with plenty of new ideas to take forward into future educational projects, including EPEC, ULS, and EPIC26.

To everyone I met during the conference, thank you for the conversations, the challenges, the laughs, and the learning.

I hope our paths cross again soon.

Tuesday ECG Case of The Week

This was a 63 years old male patient, known to have DM & HTN, who
presented to the ED a few weeks ago with palpitations & SOB.

The initial ECG showed SVT. I tried the modified Valsalva with no success, so I
gave 6 mg of Adenosine, which helped cardiovert the patient back to sinus
rhythm on the monitor.

I asked for a post-cardioversion ECG, but all of a sudden, the nurse came to
me asking for help, as this is what came out of the ECG machine.

What is your diagnosis & how will you manage this?

Share your thoughts in the comments.

We’ll review the case and key learning points together over the next few days.

The ECG isn’t usually the problem.
The pressure is.
In emergency medicine, the challenge isn’t seeing the tracing.
It’s making the right decision fast.

⚠ STEMI or not?
⚠ Dangerous arrhythmia?
⚠ Missed ischemia?
⚠ Time-critical intervention?

Confidence under pressure changes outcomes.
That’s exactly what EPEC Face-to-Face Egypt (Emergency Physician’s ECG Course) is designed to build.
✔ Practical ECG reasoning
✔ Real emergency thinking
✔ Arabic-delivered training
✔ AACME Accredited — 9.5 CME Hours
✔ In-person + Zoom attendance option
