Great fun was had at our first Year 7 Maths Masterclass! πŸŽ‰

Students explored the fascinating world of cryptography by decoding and encoding messages using a Caesar cipher wheel. They quickly discovered how mathematics can be used to create and crack secret codes.

Can you solve this challenge from the session?

Our fabulous Sports Leaders supported the Southampton School Games this week by officiating the QuadKids Primary City Athletics event.

They took on a variety of important roles, including placing competitors in the correct finishing order and measuring performances in the vortex throw and long jump. Their enthusiasm, professionalism and teamwork helped ensure the event ran smoothly throughout the day.

Primary schools from across Southampton came together to compete, showcasing fantastic effort, determination and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the participants, and a special well done to the schools that finished 1st and 2nd and will now go on to represent Southampton at county level.

A huge well done to everyone involved, especially our Sports Leaders, who were outstanding ambassadors throughout the event! πŸ‘

We were fortunate to welcome Olivia to school to deliver a Strength & Conditioning (S&C) session for a group of our girls. The session included a mixture of our sporting exceptionals and students who regularly compete at a high level in school sport.

Olivia's expertise, enthusiasm, and encouragement created a positive and engaging environment, allowing students to develop their understanding of strength and conditioning while gaining valuable insights into athletic performance. The girls fully embraced the opportunity and demonstrated excellent effort throughout the session.

A huge thank you to Olivia for sharing her knowledge and inspiring the next generation of female athletes.

Congratulations to all our Year 10 students who took part in the NxtGen Research Presentation Evening last night! πŸŽ‰

Over the past eight months, students have independently researched issues surrounding wellbeing, developing valuable research skills and effective communication strategies along the way. They confidently presented their findings to members of the Senior Leadership Team, representatives from SCC, and parents and carers.

We would like to extend our thanks to BeeWell for funding this fantastic opportunity for our students.

The standard of work and presentations was exceptional, and we are incredibly proud of every student who took part.
