Sports Day is on Wednesday 24th June and the forecast is looking like it might be hot. We will make a decision on Tuesday to see if we can continue safely and we'll let you know. If we do continue, please make sure that your child has a water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen applied before school.

Scarlett, in Year 2, competed in the Southampton Schools Trampolining Competition last Saturday. She finished an impressive 16th out of 39 children in her age category. This is a fantastic achievement, especially as she has only been taking lessons for six months.

A team of Year 1 and 2 children took part in an athletics competition this morning, competing against other local infant schools. Every one of our children was amazing. They demonstrated excellent teamwork, supported one another and other schools, and showed great resilience even when they felt a little tired or unsure.
We are incredibly proud of them all—and of their fantastic achievement in securing 3rd place.

Teach your children the Water Safety Code - Hampshire SCP 30/05/2026

Please see below a message from Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership with a link through to resources.

As the weather warms up, children and young people are more likely to be around water – whether at home, on days out or on holiday. Almost half of drownings occur during the summer months when temperatures are higher. Drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death in children in the UK, but most incidents are preventable. Babies and young children are most at risk at home, while older children and teenagers are more likely to encounter dangers in open water such as rivers, lakes and the sea. Research shows that teenagers and young adults are at increased risk during very warm weather, particularly when temperatures reach or exceed 25°C.
Most drowning incidents can be prevented with the right knowledge, supervision and preparation. The Hampshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP) Water Safety Toolkit https://www.hampshirescp.org.uk/parents-and-carers/water-safety/ offers simple, practical advice to help families stay safe.

Small actions – such as close supervision, choosing safe places to swim, and having regular conversations with children - can make a significant difference.

✨ What fantastic entries we had for Bling Your Wheels Day! 😃
The children absolutely loved showing off their creative designs and took great pride in their wonderful efforts. It was also a great opportunity to learn more about the importance of walking, scooting, and cycling to school.
We hope the day has inspired even more children to choose active ways of travelling, helping to promote healthy minds, healthy bodies, and a cleaner environment for us all. 🌍
A huge well done to everyone who took part – and congratulations to our winners, with two children from each class receiving prizes! 🎉
