Some activities the children have got up to so far this week - finding some water in the tuff tray and using a stick as a pencil, finding a slug and watching a blue butterfly. The children are now able to recognise a Magpie and a robin ❤️

Mini eggs of all colours and brands are lining the supermarket shelves. But, did you know that they are the perfect size to block a small child’s airway and choke them? And, their hard shell can make it difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

That’s why they carry a safety warning that they aren’t recommended for children under 4.

So, when you’re stocking up for the Easter Bunny please stay safe and choose another treat for your little one.

Visit our choking hub to learn more about common choking hazards and what you should do in an emergency: https://capt.org.uk/choking-prevention/

Another benefit of Forest School is because children are outside there is less reasons for them to access screen time - we only use it in the provision to help the children to research about flora/fauna/wildlife or to do yoga exercises in the outdoors.

Within Forest School we are able to exceed the time outdoors and the time children are physically active.

A woodland walk looking at the beautiful colours still left in nature such as the berries and leaves, we felt the prickly holly leaves and gently touched the very prickly gorse, we felt the new soft holly leaves and tried to catch some falling leaves when the wind blew! we also discovered some Lichen, some fungi and mould. It was great to hear the children repeating “No pick no lick - it might make you sick!”
