Welcome to my maths tutoring service.
I am a QTS qualified, NCETM accredited secondary maths mastery specialist, with full enhanced DBS checks and lots of experience as a classroom teacher and leading small group/individual tuition.
I am a firm believer that pupils' mathematical 'ability' is not fixed, and that given enough time and support all learners can progress in mathematics.
I spent the early part of my career qualifying as a Chartered Engineer, working on many mathematically based design problems. After some time as a business product manager, I moved into teaching young people. My focus was to share my experience and passion of maths in the real world, not just how to pass exams.
I have spent more than 10 years teaching in one of Winchester's best performing schools, helping them to gain a top progress and attainment position in Hampshire.
With over 13 years experience teaching maths to upper primary KS2, secondary KS3, KS4 and GCSE, I am well placed to support and tailor my services to help you succeed at maths.
More recently I have several years experience of professional mentoring/coaching student/recently qualified teachers.
Also I have planned and delivered bespoke Intelligent Practice Professional Development programmes for a number of Hampshire schools.
I use a blend of proven traditional and evidence-based modern maths mastery techniques to ensure that you can maximise your learning.
