Still on the subject of cake requests..... this one was unusual, as the bride- to - be was absolutely specific about exactly what she wanted ....I had no input whatsoever other than following her instructions!

Occasionally I get a request for a cake that is so much fun to make, I ( almost!) don't want to charge for it.

It's wedding cake season! 😁
Excuse the lighting in the first 2 pictures, I'd put the cake into the garage as it was the coolest spot in the house!
The third picture was " in situ" on a very hot day . Very relieved to see that the chocolate buttercream stayed out of sight !

Something that doesn't happen that often was being asked to make a cake for a 100th birthday.
Now that it has all been eaten and the " birthday boy" has taken a few slices back with him, I can post a picture 😁.

I was asked to make a cake for the exhibition of Ukrainian children's art at Portsmouth Cathedral.
( If you have an opportunity to go before Sunday March 2nd at 4.00 pm, I would urge you to go.........it is so powerful and moving)
It felt right to have something very simple yet with a "pop" of colour, so I made some flowers that are associated with, and native to, Ukraine .
What a great way to spend time on a Sunday!
Held the first "Introduction to Sugar Flowers" workshop of the year today and am so proud of the achievements of the lovely ladies who participated !

It seems like a lifetime ago that I last made some sugar flowers.
Finally opened the flowerpaste to make this for a keen gardener.

It's Spring! (apparently!)
Time to open the paste and make some beautiful blossom to decorate cupcakes, celebration cakes, or to simply admire!
The workshops are very informal and relaxed and will be held at the Victory Hall from 10 - 3 on a Saturday at a cost of £50 which includes all materials, tea, coffee and homemade cake.
I currently have 2 dates available, either April 29th or May 27th.
