We know it’s only September … but we’ve been doing a little bit of planning behind the scenes.

🧡 THE MINI MONSTER MASH IS COMING! 🧡

This October, we’re planning to transform Bishop’s Itchington Memorial Hall into our very own little Halloween party — created especially for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. 🦇✨

And we’re planning A LOT…
🎃 Paint-a-pumpkin
🧡 Pumpkin carving & pumpkin play
🧪 Ghoulish playdough
👻 Halloween sensory trays
✨ Magic lights & glow sticks
🧙‍♀️ And plenty of opportunities for little monsters to dress up!

A lovely way to kick off our first day back at Playgroup! 🥰

A huge THANK YOU to Tesco Southam in the Community for this wonderful donation of snacks, fruit and treats for our little ones. 🍌🍊🥛

Donations like this make such a difference to our Playgroup. Being able to offer the children a lovely selection of snacks and refreshments each week helps us keep our sessions affordable for local families — while still making them feel really special. 💛

We’re so grateful for the continued support from our local community and businesses.

🍂 SEPTEMBER BUCKET LIST 🍂

A new month, a new season and lots of little adventures to enjoy! 🧡

Our September playgroup themes are Wildlife 🦊, Literacy 📚, Dreams 🌙 and Pirates 🏴‍☠️, so we’ve created a September Bucket List full of simple ideas to carry the fun on at home.

Go on a wildlife hunt, curl up with a new book, gaze at the stars, make your own treasure map or pack up a picnic and set sail on a pirate adventure! ✨

Most of the ideas are FREE (or very low cost) because making memories doesn’t have to mean spending lots of money.

We’ve been busy over the summer getting everything ready, and we have some lovely NEW additions waiting for our little explorers…

It feels like the perfect way to start a new term — exploring, discovering and getting little hands stuck into play.

🎟️ Pre-buy 4 sessions for just £10 and your 5th session is FREE! 🎉

Or, if you prefer to pay as you go, simply bring your loyalty card along and we’ll stamp it each time you attend. Once you’ve collected your stamps, you’ll earn a free session too 🥰

🏡 MORE THAN A SHED 💙

It’s finally time to share our big summer project!

It might look like a shed… but to our little Playgroup, it means so much more.

On Friday 14th August, after months of planning, our old, deteriorating metal shed was finally removed and replaced with a beautiful, purpose-built timber home for our toys and resources.
And what a transformation. 🥹

Last winter, damp and water ingress damaged so much of what we had worked hard to build. Now, our resources have a safe, dry and organised home — meaning less money replacing damaged equipment and more money going straight back into activities and experiences for our children.
None of this would have been possible without some pretty incredible people.

💚 Bishop's Itchington Parish Council
— for funding the project and giving us the opportunity to invest in a long-term solution.

🧡 Marraway Timber Buildings — whose three-man team dismantled the old shed and built our new one from the ground up, working through temperatures of around 36°C all within one day!

💙 Fobips - Friends of Bishops Itchington Primary School, The Mud Club, Bishop’s Itchington Men’s Shed and our Friends of the Playgroup — for giving your time, stepping in when we needed help and getting stuck in.

And to every family who attends, volunteers, buys a raffle ticket, comes to an event, donates or simply shares one of our posts — this is what your support can become.

The children probably won’t remember the shed.
They’ll remember the messy play, activities, bubbles, crafts, parties and toys that come out of it. And really, that’s exactly the point. ❤️

👋 Have you visited us before?

If not... welcome to Bishop's Itchington Baby & Toddler Playgroup! 💙

This is a little peek inside our home every Thursday morning – Bishop's Itchington Memorial Hall. The hall has been at the heart of village life for generations and was originally built as a memorial to honour local people lost in the First World War. Today, it's still bringing the community together in a very different way, with laughter, play and plenty of little footsteps.

Every week we transform the hall into a colourful space designed for children aged 0–5 years. While our layout changes slightly each session, you'll usually find:

🩵 Baby Corner
🛝 Soft Play & Slide
🚗 Cars & Vehicles
🎨 Arts & Crafts
🥁 Musical Instruments
🌈 Sensory Play
👗 Fancy Dress & Dolls house
🪣 Tuff Trays filled with different activities and messy play

All of our toys are safely stored in our very own playgroup shed, with a brand-new shed being installed this August 🎉. Every toy has a story to tell—some have been purchased through fundraising, some generously donated by local families, some lovingly thrifted, and others gifted by our wonderful community. Before they make it onto the playroom floor, they're checked and spot-checked for safety, ready for lots more adventures.

You'll also spot our kitchen hatch, where we serve tea, coffee and snacks (because playtime is just as important for grown-ups! ☕), and our stage, which belongs to the Memorial Hall and comes into its own during village events and performances.

Most importantly, this isn't just a hall full of toys—it's a place where friendships begin, confidence grows, parents find support, and little imaginations run wild.

Whether it's your very first visit or you're returning after a little while away, we'd love to welcome you.
