Maybe not recent news but I was sent this last night.

Bellringers still hold competitions. We now ring and get awarded certificates and trophies but in days gone by ringing for hats was a thing!

Here are the details of our ringing on Saturday afternoon for the Coronation.

This afternoon we’ll be attempting a peal to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. W E are due to start at 1pm.

A peal is 5040 changes. Lasting 2hours 40 minutes roughly. No breaks!!! Total focus and concentration is required. We may be not be successful. I’ll report back later.

We rang this afternoon to celebrate the Coronation.

We will be back at 9am tomorrow morning with the after school club from Norwich School who are part of the Ring for the King Project.

Sunday at 10.30am our new ringers will be ringing for service.

At 1pm Sunday our peal band will be attempting a full peal to mark the Coronation.

It’s our practice night tonight. We have a lot of ringing coming up. Ring for the King. We’ll work out final timings this evening.

Tomorrow's Family Service will take place in St Lawrence's Centre, South Walsham at 11am.

This is a relaxed and informal service, with the flute, keyboard and piano accompanying the hymns. 🎹

All the family are welcome. ☕ 🍰

Why are the bells ringing? This page will keep you up to date with when the bells of South Walsham will be ringing. It maybe the ringers practicing or it could be a special occasion or a Sunday morning.

New ringers are welcome and are trained in our purpose built training centre in Norwich.

Looking after the ringing is Nikki who also runs the Mancroft Ringing Discovery Centre.
