On behalf of the staff at Lord Blyton I would like to say we are overwhelmed by your kindness and support!
We do the jobs we do because we care and want the best for our pupils at Lord Blyton. The world is an increasingly difficult place to navigate through but we are here to support both pupils and families.
Thank you for all your gifts, cards and words of support.
Have a wonderful summer and stay safe.

Mrs Gibson retired after 28 of service at Lord Blyton School. She took on many rolls over the years and we will miss you. You have supported many pupils over the years. We love that we will see you as you live in our local community. Good luck and enjoy your retirement. We also said goodbye to Miss Laidler who has covered Miss Halls maternity leave. Good luck with your new role at Forest View. MIss Langley has supported our pupils in Early Years and we thank you for that. Those pupils are moving on to new schools and so to is Miss Langley.

New Groups coming soon from The Toby Henderson Trust …….
We have been working hard on creating some new groups for parents, carers and families. We already have our monthly Support Groups on Zoom for Families of Autistic Girls and Grandparents and our monthly Book Club at Toby House that is proving very popular.
Arts & Crafts Group - We recently held our first session for parents and carers of autistic children, young people and adults. Sessions will take place once a month on the last Friday of the month at Toby House. Come along and enjoy hands-on craft activities even if you have never tried anything like this before. These are beginner friendly sessions with no experience needed. check it out here: https://www.ttht.co.uk/training-workshops-and-events/arts-crafts-group/
We also are planning to start a few more new groups in September and these will be added to website shortly:
Dads United – A community for Dads, Stepdads and male carers of autistic children or children who may be autistic meeting monthly at Newcastle Greyhound Stadium. This is a chance for like minded people to have a laugh, a chat and to spend time with others who understand the journey.
Parent Support Group for Pre, During & Post Autism Diagnosis - Open to ALL parents and carers, regardless of where you live, these monthly sessions offer the chance to connect with other families. Each session will focus on a key theme, providing information and practical advice.
Selective Mutism – A group for parent and carers to learn more about Selective Mutism, share strategies and experiences and connect with families who truly understand the challenges and successes that can come with supporting a child with SM.

It was Mrs Gibson's last night in After School Club tonight so the after school staff and kids threw her a party. She retires from Lord Blyton tomorrow after nearly three decades at the school.
We look forward to welcoming our year 6 parents and carers to our leavers assembly tomorrow. Just a reminder that it will begin at 9:30am and should last no more than an hour 😊
