Year 3 have had a fantastic day at Murton Park, taking part in many prehistoric activities. The children have been immersed in the Stone Age by hunting for food, making flour, weaving warm clothing and designing a clay pot.

A huge congratulations to all of the pupils who represented Monkton Academy at the South Tyneside Cross Country event. Competing against some of the strongest runners from across the borough, our children showed fantastic determination and resilience, achieving an incredible three individual first-place finishes and a brilliant third-place finish. Every runner gave their all on a challenging course and represented the school superbly.

These fantastic performances helped us finish as the second-highest placed school overall, a tremendous achievement and a reflection of both the talent of our runners and the wonderful team spirit shown throughout the event. We are incredibly proud of every pupil who took part. Their effort, enthusiasm and togetherness were a real credit to Monkton Academy. Well done, Team Monkton!
