The heartbroken family of an 18-year-old who died suddenly in Benidorm say a newly bought v**e oil cost him his life. 💔

Harry Whitton was just 18 and enjoying a trip to Benidorm with his girlfriend.

But he suddenly became severely unwell and passed away. 😞

His devastated father Colin believes a locally bought v**e oil is to blame.

He says the liquid his son purchased in the Costa Blanca city was the only change to his usual routine. ❗

A preliminary post-mortem has now exposed that Harry’s throat rapidly constricted.

This caused sudden breathing problems, and in his struggle, he aspirated fluid into his lungs. 😨

His mother Debbie says their world has been completely shattered as they prepare to bring him back home to Scotland.

"We should be arranging his surprise 18th, but instead we will be arranging a funeral," she said. 💔

More than £37,000 has already been raised in a single day to repatriate his body.

"If one thing comes from the loss of our boy Harry, it has to be us highlighting the dangers of using v**es and oils."

This is Sam Collard. He has been hailed a hero for saving the life of a man who collapsed in a Newcastle café 👏

The 24-year-old was on Shields Road in Byker for his job as a removal porter when he leapt into action after hearing "a commotion from across the road".

Sam raced over the street to see a man lying on the floor unconscious. He dialled 999 and began administering CPR for around 10-15 minutes, though admits it "felt like an hour". 😰

Sam said: "It's a scary thing, it's nothing that you're used to, but obviously I couldn't let him lie on the floor and not give him any help. I couldn't live with that if I knew someone had passed away and I'd done nothing to help."

Paramedics arrived and took over from Sam and used the defibrillator on the gentleman known as Barry, who was taken to hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma.

Sam has been in contact with the Barry's family who have confirmed he has woken up and is starting his recovery from the ordeal. 🫶

Sam, from Cramlington, has been really humble despite his life-saving heroics. He added: "I wasn't trying to be a hero, I just saw a chance where I could help somebody.

"If that was one of my family members I would hope that someone would do the same, especially if you trained and you feel you've got the confidence to do it.

"Hopefully it encourages people not only to go and learn CPR, but even just to be confident enough to not be afraid if you're in that situation because it can happen to anyone at any time.

"To hear that Barry's on the mend and he's starting his recovery journey is the main thing."
