💛 Proud to Make a Commitment to Su***de Prevention 💛

Yesterday Mrs Hudson, attended Washington Mind to formally sign the Su***de Prevention Charter, making an important commitment on behalf of The Beacon Centre.

Signing the Charter is much more than putting a name on a document. It represents our commitment to creating a su***de-safer community, where conversations around mental health and su***de are encouraged, stigma is challenged, and people feel confident recognising when someone may need help and knowing how to respond.

As part of this commitment, all staff at The Beacon Centre completed “A Life Worth Living” su***de prevention training last week. This important training has given our whole staff team greater awareness, confidence and practical skills to recognise concerns, have difficult conversations and know how to access the right support.

We understand just how important early intervention, trusted relationships and having someone who will listen can be. We want our pupils, families, staff and wider community to know that they do not have to face difficult times alone.

We are incredibly proud to be part of this important work alongside Washington Mind and other organisations across our area.

The signing has also been featured in the Sunderland Echo, helping to raise awareness of the collective commitment being made to su***de prevention across our communities.

📚 YEAR 11 – GCSE RESULTS 📚

A quick message for any of our Year 11 students who haven’t yet collected their GCSE results.

🏫 School is open today, so you are very welcome to pop in and collect them.

We will also be available throughout the rest of this week if you would prefer to come in on another day.

💬 If you need any support or advice about your next steps, please come and speak to us – we’re always happy to help.

📮 Any results that have not been collected by the end of the week will be posted out.

We’d love to see you and make sure you have everything you need for your next chapter.

🐾 Holiday Paw-dates from Eddie & Daisy! 🐾
We hope all of our Beacon Centre families have had a pawsome first week of the summer holidays! We hope you're all having lots of fun, making memories and, most importantly, staying safe. ☀️💙
Whilst school might be closed, Eddie has certainly been keeping himself busy! He headed off to Scotland for a little holiday with his grandparents and even entered a dog show. We're delighted to say he came home with an impressive 3rd place! 🥉🐶
Now, we're all incredibly proud of Eddie... but let's be honest, if there had been a competition for fetching tennis balls or collecting treats, he'd definitely have taken 1st place! 🎾😂

Eddie and Daisy are already missing all of our amazing students and staff, but don't worry – they'll be keeping us updated with their holiday adventures over the summer. 🐾

👀 Keep watching our page because September is going to be very exciting! Eddie and Daisy have some tail-waggingly exciting news to share about their important roles in school. We can't wait to tell you all about it!
