Hopefully the woman who allowed her little girl to run in front of my car on the main road outside of school is on this page. I am still shaking and both of my kids went into school shaking.
If i had of blinked or took my eyes off the road for less than a second and did not slam my brakes on and swerve the car sideways your child would now be seriously injured in hospital (or even worse) letting your kid run onto a main road between
parked cars when there is a public traffic light crossing less than 10 steps away is totally ignorant! Laygate Community School

I've just spoken with the school and the person who deals with the vouchers has said they will be sent out this week but due to half term they will be delayed by a few days.

Few more announcements from school today.

Meals will be provided next week. Call school to book a hot meal or packed lunch by 3PM today. Also if you are struggling to feed your child at home call school and they will try to help.

It has just been announced that food vouchers will be available for schools to order from Monday 18TH Jan.

If your child will be working from home please ring school by 12:00pm tomorrow to book a packed lunch for next week.

Work packs will be delivered by school staff by the end of the week. These packs contain a suggested weekly timetable and information about online learning

Due to the Government announcement tonight school is now CLOSED to ALL children from tomorrow. Please see next message. Not received next message yet

Well no need to update on the school at the moment since lockdown 3 is going to be in force with all schools closed apart from the vulnerable and key workers. This page can be used so your kids can contact their friends throughout lockdown get their PSN / Xbox tags etc. It does not have to be all doom and gloom feel free to post ask questions or find you children's school friends.

This is a message from South tyneside council

We appreciate that some parents and carers have concerns about sending their children back to the classroom and recognise that that is a matter if personal choice. For those who choose not to send their children back to school, fines will be suspended until 18th January. We will review the position again at that point.

We continue to support our schools to make the decision that is right for them and their students and appreciate all the hard work that has been done over the festive break to make sure schools are as safe as they possibly can be.

Long awaited message from Laygate just received.

"Please note school is currently open to all children. Further updates will be sent out when DFE provide more guidance."

So not much further information i will post any other updates and after i call tomorrow.

Just to let anyone know if they were wondering. I kept my kids off school this morning and rang school to tell them and ask about any issues regarding unauthorized absence or fines.

Currently the office has no indication of what they plan on doing with kids being kept off and i have been advised to ring the office tomorrow morning and she is going to ask the team that deals with absence on the situation so will post what is said tomorrow.
