A little summer thank you for our wonderful staff! ☀️

This afternoon, our Operations Team came together on Back Lawn for a well-deserved afternoon of games, treats and time together, as a thank you for all their hard work over the summer holidays.

There was something for everyone, from to giant Jenga and Mölkky for a slightly more relaxed afternoon - all accompanied by drinks and cake! 🍰

Some of our staff then took to the River Thames for a paddleboarding session, making the most of our beautiful riverside setting. 🏄‍♀️

A lovely way to round off the summer and spend some time together before the new school year begins. Thank you to all our staff for everything you do for Reading Blue Coat 💙

🎉 GCSE Results Day 2026 – in their own words!

Congratulations to our Year 11 students! Big smiles all round 🎉

We are so proud of all our students for achieving such fantastic GCSE results today with 80% of results at grade 7 or higher and 57% awarded at the top grades 9 - 8.

Headmaster Pete Thomas said: “Today’s results are a wonderful reflection of the commitment and character shown by this year group throughout their GCSE studies. They have approached their learning with real determination while making the most of the many opportunities school life has to offer. These achievements are also the product of the support, encouragement and guidance provided by our dedicated staff and families, who have played such an important role throughout the journey. We are immensely proud of all that our students have achieved and delighted to see their efforts rewarded.

"As they begin the next stage of their education in the Sixth Form, I look forward to watching them build on these successes and continue to grow in confidence and ambition over the next two years."👏

🏐 Our first-ever Goal Getters Netball Course was a fantastic success!

As part of our RBC Ed-ventures holiday programme, we welcomed a group of enthusiastic netballers eager to develop their skills. The girls were the very first to step onto our newly refurbished netball and tennis courts, where they focused on footwork, match play, and game-based training.

Over the three-day course, the fun didn't stop there. Participants also enjoyed making the most of our facilities, tackling our indoor climbing wall and taking a well-earned dip in the swimming pool!

RBC Ed-ventures holiday clubs are open to everyone, so don't miss out on our upcoming programmes, including bushcraft adventures and revision courses.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
Our students are celebrating another year of exceptional A Level results, with 19% of all grades awarded at A*, more than half at A* or A, and an impressive 80% at grades A*–B. These excellent outcomes are a testament to the hard work and ambition of our students, supported every step of the way by staff and families, and continue the School's proud tradition of excellent academic achievement. Looking back at our Senior Prize Giving as we celebrated the end of another successful academic year.

The afternoon recognised the dedication, perseverance and achievements of our senior students across all aspects of school life. From academic excellence to outstanding contributions in sport, music, drama, leadership and service, it was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on a year filled with success and to celebrate the students who have made such a positive impact on our school community.

The occasion also marked a special milestone as we said farewell to our Year 13 students. It has been a privilege to watch them grow into confident, compassionate and ambitious young adults, and we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved during their time at Reading Blue Coat.

As they begin the next chapter of their journeys, we wish them every success and look forward to welcoming them back as Old Blues in the years to come. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and thank you to every student for helping to make this such a memorable year.
