A fantastic Junior Swimming Gala this afternoon! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

A huge well done to all of our Junior children who took part. The afternoon was packed with exciting races, including front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke, giving everyone the opportunity to showcase their swimming skills and determination.

The gala also featured a number of relay races, where the children demonstrated excellent teamwork, encouragement and sportsmanship alongside their swimming talents.

Every child put in a fantastic effort and should be incredibly proud of their achievements. A special congratulations goes to Team Seahorses, who were crowned the overall winners of the gala! 🏆🌊

A mindful morning 🌅

In mindfulness this morning Year 3 and 4 discussed what it is to be present and how we can do this using our senses.

We then went outside to lay in the front garden silently listening to our surroundings and concentrating on our breathing in order to be present in the moment.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity ☺️

⚽️🏆 Whitehall kicked off the World Cup celebrations in style today with our very own tournament!

Pupils from every year group took part, proudly representing their house teams. Each team played twice to earn valuable points in an exciting morning of competition.

The atmosphere was incredible, with plenty of chanting, cheering, goals, and teamwork on display throughout the event. Every child gave their all and showed fantastic sportsmanship — you should all be very proud! 👏

A huge congratulations to 🔵 Sapphires 🔵 who lifted the World Cup trophy at the end of the morning after an outstanding performance! 🏆✨

Year 3 & 4 Camp Out 2026 ✔️🏕️✨

What a fun-filled evening for all our Whitehall campers! The adventure began with everyone successfully pitching their tents before enjoying games and laughter together, including an impromptu gymnastics class led by the children themselves 🤸‍♀️👏

Next came dinner time, where the children BBQ’d their own burgers and sausages before cooling off with ice cream for dessert 🍔🌭🍦 After dinner, everyone worked together brilliantly to wash up and prepare the hall for breakfast the next morning showing fantastic teamwork all around!

As the evening settled in, the children enjoyed rounds of SPLAT before gathering around the campfire for songs, stories, and plenty of smiles 🔥🎶📖

Then it was time for pyjamas, tooth brushing, and one last excited chat in their tents before lights out 💤⛺️

And just as everyone was drifting off to sleep, we had a little wildlife visitor snuffling around the edge of the field… proving that the camp out fun was so good, even the animals wanted to join in! 🦔✨

This afternoon, we came together for a whole-school shared read 📖

The children absolutely love these sessions as they provide a wonderful opportunity to socialise with children from different year groups. Our younger pupils especially enjoy having stories read to them by the older children, and there were smiles all around as everyone shared their favourite books together ☺️

The children and staff would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Whitehall School PTA. 😁

The PTA provided the school with some money to buy new books this year and we decided to use it to choose a book for each child based on their interests. The children have received their hand-picked books this morning and are very excited to read them. 📚

Once they’ve completed their book they can bring it back to their class book corner or swap books with a friend and most of the children already have their eye on their next read. 📖
