🌟 SUTTON COLDFIELD STARS OF THE MONTH – SEPTEMBER 2026! 🌟

A massive congratulations to our three Stars of the Month! 🥋👏

🥷 MINI NINJAS – HARVEY
For someone so young, Harvey shows fantastic focus, concentration and technique in his classes. He listens brilliantly, works hard and continues to impress us every week. Keep it up, Harvey! 💚

🥊 JUNIOR WARRIORS – AMAYA
Amaya has shown a huge improvement in her technique, and we’re particularly impressed with the power she is now generating in her strikes! Her hard work in training is really starting to show. Brilliant work, Amaya! 💥

🏆 ADULTS – HENRY
What a month for Henry! Not only has he made a fantastic improvement in his technique and form, but he also represented MACK at the ICO Oxford Champions Open, competing in his first ever tournament and coming away with GOLD! 🥇🔥 An outstanding achievement!

Three very deserving winners who have shown exactly what we want to see at MACK — focus, improvement, hard work and determination.

Congratulations Harvey, Amaya and Henry! 👏🖤💚

🥊 MORE THAN JUST HITTING PADS…

Partner padwork is a regular part of our Junior Warriors classes, and there’s a lot more going on here than simply learning how to punch. 👊

When our students work together, they’re developing:

🧠 Focus & concentration — listening, watching and reacting to their partner.

🤝 Teamwork — learning how to work with someone else rather than everything being an individual activity.

💬 Communication — giving feedback, encouraging their partner and learning to communicate clearly.

🎯 Coordination — combining footwork, balance, timing and technique.

💪 Fitness — improving cardiovascular fitness, strength and stamina while learning a genuine skill.

🥋 Confidence — seeing themselves improve week after week and becoming comfortable trying things they once found difficult.

❤️ Respect & responsibility — when you’re holding pads for somebody else, you’re responsible for helping your partner train safely and effectively.

That’s one of the things we love about martial arts.

Compared with activities where children can simply watch, play independently or be entertained, kickboxing requires them to participate, communicate, think, move and work together.

And while they’re busy having fun hitting pads…

They’re developing skills that can benefit them well beyond the training room. 🖤💚

Parents — what’s the biggest positive change you’ve noticed in your child since they started training with MACK? 👇

🥇🥇🥇 A FULL HOUSE OF GOLD FOR MACK! 🥇🥇🥇

The MACK Kickboxing team together at the ICO Oxford Open, captured at the fantastic Geoff Angel Photography booth! 📸🥊

Three fighters. Three Gold medals. 100% Gold! 🏆🔥

A fantastic tournament debut for Henry, Isabelle and Toby, who all stepped into a new level of competition, represented MACK brilliantly and came away top of their respective categories.

Pictured alongside their coach Brad Hennessy, this was a very proud moment and a great reward for all the hard work these three have been putting into their training. 💚🖤

And the best part?

They’ve already asked when the next tournament is! 😂🥊

Safe to say… they’ve caught the competition bug! 👀🔥

The journey is only just beginning. 💚

🥇 GOLD FOR HENRY! 🥇

Here is Henry, who was first up representing MACK at the ICO Oxford Open, proudly showing off his Gold medal! 🏆🥊

📸 A brilliant shot courtesy of the Geoff Angel Photography booth, who were there capturing the action and celebrations throughout the day.

This was Henry’s first taste of the kickboxing tournament circuit, and what a way to start! 🔥

Henry has shown fantastic progress, determination and commitment in his training, and all that hard work paid off with a brilliant performance on Saturday and a Gold medal to bring home! 🥇

Judging by Saturday’s performance, we think it’s safe to say this won’t be the last time we see Henry stepping onto the tournament mats! 👀💚

A massive congratulations, Henry — the first of many! 👏🥊

🥇🥇🥇 3 GOLD MEDALS AT THE ICO OXFORD CHAMPIONS OPEN! 🥊💚

A massive congratulations to Henry, Isabelle and Toby for their fantastic performances at the ICO Oxford Champions Open yesterday!

This was their first tournament, and they certainly stepped up to the challenge — with all three returning home with GOLD medals! 🥇🥇🥇

This competition was another step up from their previous competitive experience, putting them into a new tournament environment against new opposition.

All the hours of training, hard work and dedication paid off with three fantastic, gold-medal-worthy performances! 👏🔥

We couldn’t be prouder of the way all three represented MACK Kickboxing — not just with their performances, but with their attitude, confidence and sportsmanship throughout the day.

This is only the first step into the tournament scene for these members of our Sutton Coldfield classes… and we’re very excited to see what comes next.

Watch this space! 👀🥊

Congratulations Henry, Isabelle & Toby! 🏆💚

🥊 SHADOW BOXING ➡️ BAG WORK — PUTTING TECHNIQUE INTO PRACTICE 🥊

Here’s MACK Kickboxing instructor Brad Hennessy combining two important parts of kickboxing training — shadow boxing and free-standing bag work. 👊🔥

🥊 SHADOW BOXING allows you to work on your technique without relying on a target.

It helps develop:

⚡ Speed and fluidity
🦶 Footwork, movement and angles
🧠 Fight IQ and visualisation
🛡️ Defence and reactions
🥊 Combination building
⚖️ Balance and control

The key is to imagine an opponent in front of you. Attack, defend, counter, move off at angles and constantly think about your positioning.

Then we take those movements onto the free-standing bag. 💥

Bag work adds something shadow boxing can't — a physical target and resistance.
Now you can start working on:

💥 Power – putting your bodyweight through your techniques.
🎯 Accuracy – making sure those punches and kicks land exactly where you intend.
📏 Distance – learning the correct range for different techniques.
🔥 Combinations – putting punches and kicks together while maintaining speed, balance and control.
🥵 Conditioning – maintaining your technique even as fatigue starts to set in.
Shadow boxing helps you build the movement.

Bag work allows you to apply it to a target.

Put the two together and you've got a simple but extremely effective way of becoming a more complete kickboxer. 🥊🔥

Don’t just throw techniques — train with purpose.

🔥 THE COMEBACK? 🔥

After time away from competition, Kashem Ali is back! 🥊💚

Kashem will return to competitive action this month at the ICO Oxford Champions Open, representing MACK Kickboxing once again as he steps back onto the tournament mats. 👊

But he won't be going alone...

We have a fantastic group of MACK students heading to Oxford, with many of them preparing to make their competitive tournament debuts! 🔥

For some, this will be their first opportunity to experience the nerves, excitement and challenge of competition. For Kashem, it's a chance to pull the gloves back on and see if the comeback is officially on! 👀

📅 Saturday 12th September
🏆 ICO Oxford Champions Open
📍 White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre
📍 OX14 1JQ

We're incredibly proud of everyone stepping forward to represent the club. Whether you're returning to competition or competing for the very first time, the whole MACK team will be behind you. 💚🖤

One club. One team. One family.

Let's go, ! 🥊🔥
