Mr MacNamee is launching a comic book club in the library which will run on Thursday after school during week 1, and Wednesday lunchtimes during week 2. During these sessions we will look at a variety of different graphic novel texts. All students are welcome to join this new and exciting extra-curricular club!
Last term our amazing cheerleading team had 2 performances at primary school cheerleading festivals and they also performed at the school Christmas concert. They have been so committed and have learnt so many new skills. Miss Palser is super proud of each and every one of you. Congratulations and well done🤩
It was wonderful to see our students arriving back into school this morning, looking smart and ready to take on the new term. We look forward to a successful 2025. 🤩
Ralph had an amazing time with our students at the zero hero event. Ralphie was mingling with all of the students at the event and has earnt himself a well earned rest. Ralphie would like to wish all of the students at Lode Heath a very Merry Christmas!!
From all of us here at Lode Heath School, we wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a Happy New Year. We welcome our students back into school on Monday, 6th January 2025.
Congratulations to the winners of the Autumn term STARS Challenge 2024. We all had a great day at the Christmas festival at Lichfield Cathedral and made a lot of noise at the Pantomime in the afternoon. Thankyou for all students who went for being so brilliantly behaved.
🎄✨ What a fantastic evening at our Christmas Concert! Our students gave incredible performances, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and talent. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us to celebrate – your support means so much. It was truly a magical way to kick off the festive season! 🎶
The Lode Heath Art department were inundated with entries in a wide variety of media from Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils for our Art Prize draw competition. A sample is shown and we were so impressed in the art department of the arts and crafts that Lode Heath students carry out in their own time. Miss Kew has picked an entry from a lucky dip and a huge well done to Igor who has been randomly selected. This competition will carry on next term and again students may enter as many times as they wish. We love you to share the work you create at home with us.
A huge well done to all pupils who were selected from years 7,8 and 9 to create a piece of art for the Lode Heath School Art book. Mr Davis has selected the winner this term. He has chosen Keeva’s amazing Pop Art piece of work praising her for her use of bright bold colours and application of paint. We are all super proud of this talented young lady and all those who were selected. Watch this space next term for our new entries.
This year, we produced a Christmas Concert 🎄 and decided to raise money for charity. All of the money raised from ticket and refreshment sales as well as bucket donations went towards our Student Council voted charity, Re-engage, whose mission it is to end loneliness for those in later life. You can find out more about Re-engage, and the amazing work they do, by visiting their website here: www.reengage.org.uk
We are really pleased to announce that we raised a huge £816.73 for Re-engage!
We thank you for your generosity and hope this money will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by loneliness in later life ❤️
Remember, 'We're Are All in This Together!' ❤️
Re-engage: the charity reducing loneliness in later life Our mission is to use the power of volunteering to enable older people to make new friends and break out of the cycle of social isolation and loneliness
Science Students of the Week - Alayna and Amy of 9H. For helping to run the science club and support the Year 7 students. They are always supporting and helping, whilst having a smile. Fantastic Science leaders, well done 🤩
🚗🚦 Yesterday, our Year 7 students took part in a fantastic Road Traffic Workshop! 🛑 They were fully engaged and demonstrated amazing behaviour throughout the session. It was great to see them learning valuable lessons on road safety and traffic awareness. 🌟
Well done, Year 7!👏
Our Lode Heath students, along with Mrs. Soomal and Mrs. Hopwood brought festive cheer to The Grove Care Home! 🎄✨ It was a heart warming experience filled with lovely conversations and the joy of giving 🎁 as our students shared beautiful, handmade Christmas cards. 🖌️💌 We’re so proud of their kindness and creativity! ❤️
On Saturday morning we received a huge donation of toiletries and sanitary products from Warwickshire and Solihull Blood Bikes 'Practical Presents' campaign. Our own Mr Davies led a convoy of bikes and a van to deliver the items, a third will go to Lode Heath with the remainder going to other schools in the trust. The items will be passed onto some of our disadvantaged students and the remainder kept in stock with Mrs Hopwood for when students need them over the coming months.
Christmas Concert rehearsals are in full swing at Lode Heath School. One more day to go and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Mr McInally's annual bookfair held in the school library last week was a great success, with over £520 worth of book sales, resulting in over £200 worth of free books for the school. He was assisted by his eager team of student librarians and there was an Elf on hand to oversee all the proceedings. Many thanks to students and staff who bought something, and - remember - books are for life, not just Christmas 🤩
Oh, Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree! - Thank you to the students who decorate our school Christmas tree this year. You have done an amazing job. Thank you 🤩
