As our Spring term comes to an end, we wish you all a restful break and hope everyone who is celebrating Easter during the holidays has a wonderful time. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school after the holidays at 8:40am on Monday 08 April.


Year 11 are into another Football Final, after a 1-0 win in the Semi Final of the Solihull Cup. Evan Brennan scored to make it 1-0 in the first two minutes, Lode Heath then showed outstanding teamwork to battle to a 1-0 victory! They will play Arden in the final, in April. Well done to the team 🤩

The biggest ever girls football session was a huge success last Friday with 160 girls coming down to the Astro. With competitions and free play, the girls had a fantastic time showing off their skills.

Science Students of the Week - Alex Ciesla in year 8 is a hardworking student, she submits homework work on time, actively participating in classwork and discussions. She motivates other pupils and maintains a positive atmosphere when approaching all tasks. Alex is always on time and has a fantastic science book. Overall, a model pupil. Omera Sufian in year 9 works with determination and effort to do well and supporting Science staff with the Year 7 Forensics group . Keep up the good work🤩🤩


Tomorrow lunch is Girls only football on the AstroTurf. This is part of Barclays and Team England teaming up to try to get as many girls as possible to play football in one day. There will be areas for free play, matches, a penalty shoot out and a cross bar challenge. Afterschool there will also be an additional girls football session. Football


Year 11 Football Success - After a 4-3 win vs Heart of England, we are in the Final of the U16 Birmingham Cup. We will play Arthur Terry in the final at Aston Villa's training ground on the 14th March.
Well done to all involved and good luck for the final ⚽️🏆

Glass Artist Workshop - the examples below are finished artwork students designed and created in the glass artist workshops over the past several weeks. The small tiles are based on the student's interests and the large tiles are based on their life in Hong Kong. The Core Theatre Courtyard Gallery will also have an exhibition of work from this project, including artwork, photos and videos, exhibiting 27th February - 11th March

Girls U16 Football Tournament - well done to the team, who had not played together before. They did amazingly well, scoring 10 goals and winning 4 of their matches.


Mr McInally's book club 'The Lode Readers' will be starting a new book on Wednesday 28th Feb and, he's taking you into the future with 'Ross Welford's "The Monkey Who Fell From the Future." As ever new members are welcome to join (3:30-4:00 pm).

Year 7 Pancake Day Competition. We had so many amazing entries. Well done to you all that entered. Our winner was Lily Crabtree who created the Lode Heath School logo to perfection. Emily Bird, Shrie Lodhia and Hayden Lovell were runners up who also produced beautiful pancakes🤩

Our Year 7 & 8 'Behind the Scenes' Event at LHS last night was a great success. Many thanks to the parents/carers and students that attended, we hope you found it both enjoyable and informative. A big thank you also to the Year 11 students that gave up their free time to help the event run smoothly.


The Science department has nominated Darren Layton in Year 11 for student of the week. Darren received a grade 55 in the recent Physics assessment, the highest grade. This clearly shows the hard work and preparation that Darren has put in. Well done Darren, keep up the great work 🤩


Student CPD Focus
Our fortnightly character and personal development focus this week is online safety. Across school, students will be learning how to stay safe online, how to keep social media accounts secure, the risks of screen addiction and how to manage their digital footprint.

It was wonderful to see our students arriving back into school this morning, looking smart and ready to take on the new term. We look forward to a successful 2024 with new opportunities and challenges along the way.
