A big well done to some of our newly appointed Senior Students and Senior Ambassadors who volunteered as LHS representatives at the Coppice summer fair. It was a real pleasure to see them interacting with younger students, parents and carers as they ran a penalty shoot out and book sale. ๐๐

๐๐งฌ Year 8 Scientists in Action! ๐งฌ๐
Today, our Year 8 students became genetic detectives as they successfully extracted DNA from strawberries!
Using simple laboratory techniques, they were able to see the DNA that is normally hidden inside the cells of the fruit.
This hands-on experiment helped students explore the building blocks of life and understand how genetic information is stored in living organisms.
It was fantastic to see their curiosity, teamwork, and scientific skills in action.
Who knew a strawberry could reveal so much science? ๐ฌโจ

๐งฌโ๏ธ Year 8 scientists in action! โ๏ธ๐งฌ
Today, our Y8 students combined creativity and science by building incredible origami DNA models and putting their detective skills to the test by cracking DNA codes! ๐๐งฉ
From folding the double helix to decoding genetic sequences, students explored how DNA stores the instructions for life while developing their problem-solving and teamwork skills. ๐
Who knew genetics could be this hands-on and fun? ๐
