While the weather may have stopped Sports Day today, it certainly hasn’t stopped the fun!

Our Circus Skills Workshop has been a huge hit, with children enjoying a range of exciting activities including plate spinning, juggling and learning lots of new tricks. The hall has been full of laughter, determination and plenty of smiles as pupils have challenged themselves and had a go at something different.

We’re delighted that the children have still been able to enjoy a special day despite the change of plans. Thank you for your understanding regarding the postponement of Sports Day, and we look forward to seeing everyone on our rescheduled date.

I think it’s fair to say that some of the staff have been enjoying themselves just as much as the children! 🎪🤹‍♀️😄

🌟 Play & Engagement Support Assistant 🌟

Hazel Oak School is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Play & Engagement Support Assistant to join our warm and supportive team.

This role focuses on:
-Supporting pupils during playtimes and lunchtimes
-Encouraging play, friendships and confidence
-Some short periods of classroom support
-Supporting pupils’ wellbeing and personal care (full training provided)

17.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 10.15am–1.45 pm)
Term time only | Start ASAP

Today we are taking part in School’s Football Week! ⚽🙌

This morning, EYFS kicked things off with a penalty shootout, followed by an exciting Upper School Pupils vs Staff match 👏🔥

This afternoon, KS2 will be battling it out in their football tournament—good luck to everyone involved! 🏆

Our final Llanrug update of the day! 🌊

One group enjoyed a fantastic morning at the beach, exploring caves and playing in the sand 🏖️

They even spotted a jellyfish—what an exciting find! 🪼✨

There have been lots of exciting adventures happening today, with pupils making the most of every moment 🌟

They’ve been fantastic and have had a brilliant time exploring—well done everyone! 👏✨

Llanrug Day 3! ❄️

One group took on *Carnedd y Filiast* today, trekking through heavy hail to reach the top! 🌨️💪 At the summit, they even managed a snowball fight—what an achievement!

Staff said the wind was howling, but the pupils tackled the challenge with enthusiasm and had an amazing time 🌬️✨

Day 2 in Llanrug has been a blast! 🙌

Pupils started the day by independently making their lunches and getting ready for an exciting adventure in the mines ⛏️ Every group had the chance to head underground and explore—what an experience!

After a busy day, everyone headed back for dinner before choosing between an evening walk or a relaxing movie session 🎬🌙

Meanwhile, back in school… it seems some staff have very similar wardrobe tastes! 😂

KS3&4 pupils and staff arrived safely at Llanrug yesterday! 🙌

After unpacking their bags, making their beds, and collecting their gear for the week ahead, they headed out for an evening explore before enjoying some well-earned fish and chips 🍟🐟

It’s a rainy start this morning, but that won’t stop the adventure and fun they have planned! 🌧️✨
