When I first started saying ‘ no ‘ and creating boundaries things were grim.I was told I had ‘ changed ‘ people who I thought I knew were the first to kick back.Which made me feel so guilty and the worst feeling of all was that people might think I wasn’t a nice person.( God forbid a woman starts standing up for herself )
Years of people pleasing leaves you second guessing yourself and eventually losing yourself as you become a version of yourself that tries to please to keep everyone ‘happy’.. People in your life who benefitted from you not having any boundaries in place will be the first to notice.Thats ok 👌 you get to see who is worth your energy.As with any new habit that you have resisted doing there will be initial discomfort.You may even think it’s easier to just stay as you are.You can’t.
Everyone else’s happiness shouldn’t be at the cost of your own.
