✨ What a lovely first week back! ✨

We’ve enjoyed story time, imaginative play, exploring outdoors, sensory experiences, and lots of opportunities to learn through play. It has been wonderful to see the children reconnect with friends, build confidence, and create new memories together.

Here’s to another fun-filled term of adventures, discovery, and smiles! 💛

OUR PLAYROOM ✨

✨ A thoughtfully planned environment plays such an important role in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing. ✨

At JK Childminding, every area of our playroom has been carefully designed with the EYFS in mind to create a calm, nurturing and inspiring space where children feel safe, confident and excited to learn through play. 🤎

Our room layout encourages:
🌿 Independence – resources are stored at child height so children can freely explore, make choices and develop confidence in their own abilities.
📚 Communication & Language – cosy book areas and meaningful interactions help build vocabulary, listening and conversation skills.
🧩 Problem Solving & Curiosity – open-ended resources invite children to investigate, explore and think creatively.
🎨 Imagination & Role Play – our home corner and small world areas support storytelling, social skills and real-life learning experiences.
✋ Physical Development – activities throughout the room help strengthen fine motor skills, coordination and movement.
💛 Personal, Social & Emotional Development – calm, welcoming spaces help children feel secure, valued and emotionally supported.

I strongly believe children learn best in environments that feel warm, homely and inviting. By keeping the space organised, accessible and purposeful, children can independently follow their interests while being supported through every stage of their EYFS journey. 🌈

Every resource and learning area has a purpose — helping little minds grow through play, exploration and positive relationships every single day. ✨

SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT 🎀🌸💕

A spontaneous day with our girl because she was the only one in — and she made sure to enjoy every second of the attention 😄

Birthday shopping ✔️
Little treats ✔️
Girly day ✔️

Sometimes it’s not about the crafts or busy activities. Felt incredibly lucky to have a slow Wednesday.

The simple days are always the sweetest 🤍

✨ A little transformation in our playroom! ✨

I’ve recently repainted (I say I, but we all know it’s was the husband🤣) and redecorated the space to create a calm, welcoming environment that supports children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS.

Every area has been thoughtfully set up to encourage independence, creativity, and exploration through play. I can’t wait for the children to enjoy their refreshed space! 🧸🌈

Just waiting on labels for the boxes and for our maths area.

Let me know what you think?💕

CURRICULUM

When someone asks me what my curriculum is:

My curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). I provide a safe, nurturing environment where children learn through play, daily routines and real-life experiences.

I support children’s communication and language by talking, reading stories and encouraging conversation. I promote physical development through outdoor play, trips to parks, farms, swimming and active play. I help children develop personal, social and emotional skills by encouraging sharing, independence and positive relationships.

I plan activities based on each child’s interests and stage of development, and I support their next steps to help them progress and prepare for school and unlock there full potential ✨

Most importantly to feel safe, valued and part of. Family ❤️

GOODBYE 💔🥹😭

Hardest part of this job is the goodbyes. Tiny little feet entered my home and left the biggest beautiful marks.

My first family I welcomed when I moved into my new home. I remember I was still living out of boxes. The house was old with horrid carpets.

I remember saying to my husband the house isn’t how I would usually have it. What if they don’t like it?

He said it’s not the house they’re coming to view it’s you as a person. They will love you! He was right this gorgeous family came into my home and loved what they saw. And sent both children to me.

We worked together as a big family to give those boys the best start. You both should be so proud of yourselves.❤️

I will miss you all so much. Here’s to new beginnings

You’ll always have a place at mine forever and ever ✨

Creativity 🤎

Creativity doesn’t just mean paints and getting messy. It means using your imagination, facing those fears and trying new things and using resources around you to come up with new ideas and play.

Monday morning spent at our favourite place 🧡

MY LITTLE PEOPLE 🤍

Childminding really is something special. Watching these little people grow, laugh, and discover the world reminds me every day how lucky I am to have them in my life. Such a beautiful job 🧡

The smallest people take up the biggest space in your heart 🤍
