Olton Mere Member Open Event at Draycote - 13th September
On the 13th of September we have arranged for OMSC to have an away day over at Draycote. Draycote will be providing a Committee boat, and will also provide safety cover for us, we just need to get ourselves over there to make the most of a day on the water together.

Entry will be £16.00 per boat. Some single handers (Fusions) will be available to rent at £15 for those not taking their own. For anyone wishing to take their own boat but unable to do so without assistance please let us know and we will do what we can to make arrangements.

Racing will consist of two races back to back in the morning starting at 11:00. We will then break for lunch before sailing the final race of the day in the early afternoon. Presentation of prizes from the day will take place back at OMSC as part of our social event celebrating The Last Night of the Proms.

Draycote have set up an OMSC web collect for our members to book and pay online, Galley will be open all day and the bar will be open too.

A teenage sailor says he is setting his sights on the Olympics, after winning two junior world championship titles in a row. More in the comments.

Yesterday our members were invited to join Draycote Water Sailing Club for their 100 minute Air Ambulance Open Pursuit Race.

3 of our supernova sailors Matt Seaton, Steve Jellicoe & Tom White made the trip over for the event.

After a quick tuning session on shore we launched and headed to the start line in a moderate breeze and blazing sunshine.

We came away with some fantastic results and smiles all round

1st overall & 1st Supernova - Tom White
17th overall & 2nd Supernova - Matt Seaton
24th overall & 3rd Supernova - Steve Jellicoe

We regret to inform members and permit holders that a deceased fox has been found near the launching ramp, along with two ducks.

Initial observations suggest that poisoning may be the cause, though this has not yet been confirmed. The relevant authorities have been notified and we are currently awaiting further guidance.

In the meantime, we kindly ask that you keep dogs well away from the affected area.
