The local authority are seeking parental experiences and views on availability of childcare, the quality and accessibility to provision for children with SEND. If our waiting lists are anything to go by I would suggest there is not enough high quality places available, so please do let the LA know.

Solihull Early Years and Childcare Parent/Carer survey | Your Voice Solihull You will be asked about your experience of early years provision and the availability of childcare in Solihull. Thank you for your participation.

We love working with Sam, she enthuses and engages us with her inspirational approach to learning ❤️ we can't wait to see where next years journey takes us 👌

Our story so far…..Established in August 2024 to bring high-quality, nature-based learning to children. In under two years, we have worked with 7 settings and supported more than 350 children through outdoor forest school experiences that build confidence, resilience, curiosity and a connection with the nature.
💚
We have helped design and set up 3 dedicated forest school areas within partner settings.
To reach settings without suitable land or existing outdoor space, we developed a pack-away forest school experience. This has allowed us to extend forest school opportunities to a further 6 settings.

We have delivered Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) summer sessions in partnership with Solihull Council, bringing our forest school approach to the council's holiday provision. 10 lovely adults have given their time and energy to supporting 120 children to enjoy their time outdoors and support local families during the school holidays.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery, we are now able to offer woodland sessions for families. This lets parents and carers experience forest school alongside their children, extending the benefits of outdoor learning into home life and strengthening the wider community around each setting we work with.
💚
Our Funders

We are grateful to the following funders, whose support has been vital in getting Brightside off the ground and helping us grow:
National Lottery — funding our new family woodland sessions
Birmingham Airport Community Fund — supporting the set up and resourcing of forest school sessions
IM Properties Community fund through Heart of England funding— supporting our wider forest school programme

💚Huge thanks to the settings that welcome me to their wonderful community. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with the staff and children who truly recognise the impact of outdoor learning and connecting with nature.

Also huge thanks to all the lovely adults who have worked with me and share my passion and to those who I learned from 💚

Big love to my family who have supported me all the way out of the classroom and into the woods 💚

Looking for a local plumber to change a toilet washer thats leaking please, our regular plumber has moved house and as its only a small job its not worth the trip 😉 we do break toilets rather frequently (as they get a lot of use) so it could lead to future employment 🤣 (if you want it)
