Tune in tomorrow for CHATTERBOX, where we'll be in conversation with the Shadow Culture Secretary, Tracy Brabin. In a week when the government has announced a major investment in the arts, there will certainly be lots to discuss! You can join the conversation LIVE by registering www.playboxtheatre.com/chatterbox and it's all FREE.
Here's a little bit about Tracy to get you started:
Tracy is the shadow culture secretary and Labour MP for Batley and Spen. She studied drama at Loughborough University before gaining an MA in Screenwriting from the University of the Arts London. As an actor she spent three years as Tricia Armstrong in CORONATION STREET as well as appearing in EASTENDERS, MIDSOMER MURDERS, LAW & ORDER: UK and EMMERDALE. As screenwriter she's written for SHAMELESS, HOLLYOAKS and THE STORY OF TRACY BEAKER amongst many others. She became the Labour MP for Batley and Spen in 2016 after the murder of her friend, Labour MP, Jo Cox. She made her maiden speech in the House of Commons in November 2016 which won applause from MPs from all parties.
LAURA WADE is an award-winning playwright, whose work has been performed at Royal Court, National Theatre, Theatr Clwyd and Chichester Festival Theatre amongst many others. Her controversial play, POSH, was developed into a screenplay after its sell-out success at Royal Court, and was subsequently titled, THE RIOT CLUB starring SAM CLAFLIN.
We are so excited to welcome Laura to the chat this week, and hope that you'll all be joining us.
We are really excited to welcome the brilliant AIMEE LOU WOOD to our event Chatterbox.
Aimee graduated from RADA in 2017. In her final year of training she performed in Robert Icke's production of MARY STUART at the Almeida Theatre in London before joining the UK Tour of PEOPLE, PLACES AND THINGS with the National Theatre/Headlong. In 2019 she made her screen debut in Netflix's smash-hit, coming of age comedy S*X EDUCATION in which she plays series regular Aimee Gibbs. She was most recently seen on stage in UNCLE VANYA in the West End alongside Richard Armitage and Toby Jones.
