This message came through after just one session 💬

“He just came through and said it was amazing and it’s going to really help. He said that you were giving them a real structure for analysis and no one has ever told him that before.”

That line stopped me in my tracks. This student is in Year 10, has been studying English for years and no one had ever given him a clear framework for analysis.

That’s exactly what these classes are built around.

Real structure.

Real technique.

From someone who is currently marking the 2026 English exams.

One of the questions I get asked most often by parents is:

“When should my child start preparing seriously for GCSE English?”

My answer is always the same:

Before Year 11.

As a GCSE examiner, I see students every year who wait until mock season to focus on English. By then, they are trying to improve analysis, exam technique and confidence all at the same time.

The students who feel most confident in Year 11 are usually the ones who started building these skills earlier.

That’s why my weekly classes focus on:
✔ AQA English Language
✔ AQA English Literature
✔ Examiner-approved strategies
✔ Building confidence through consistency

One parent recently told me:

“He learned more from your sessions than he did in his classroom. That says it all!”

Consistency builds confidence.

If your child is currently in Year 10, June is the perfect time to start building the skills that will make Year 11 feel more manageable.

Right now is actually one of the BEST times to strengthen GCSE English skills.

Why?

Because students can build confidence gradually over summer without the pressure that comes with Year 11 mocks and deadlines.

By September, many students already feel like they’re trying to catch up.

In AQA English Language, strong analysis skills take time to develop.

That’s why starting earlier makes such a difference.

In my FREE Year 10 masterclass, I’ll show students:
✔ what examiners are really looking for
✔ how to improve analysis
✔ strategies that build confidence before Year 11 begins.

⏰ New classes begin the week beginning Monday 8th June.

The AQA Examiner Report (June 2025) said that most students peak by page 2.

After that, accuracy drops.

Plan well. Write sharply. Proof read for accuracy. That’s how you score highly.

For 2026:

✏️ Aim for quality over quantity
✏️ Plan your structure
✏️ Craft your sentences
✏️ Edit for accuracy

AO5 + AO6 reward control, not length.

📚 Spaces are available in my weekly GCSE English classes starting Monday 8th June.

Monday
📖 AQA English Language – 5:30pm
📚 AQA English Literature – 6:30pm

Wednesday
📖 AQA English Language – 4:00pm

Classes cover:
✅ AQA English Language
✅ AQA English Literature
✅ Exam technique and structure
✅ AO5 and AO6 skills
✅ Confidence-building and targeted feedback

One of the biggest misconceptions about GCSE English is that serious preparation starts in Year 11.

In reality, the students who feel most confident in Year 11 are usually the ones who started building their skills earlier.

As a GCSE examiner, I see the difference every year.

Confidence comes from:
✔ understanding how to analyse
✔ knowing what examiners are looking for
✔ practising consistently over time

That’s why my small group classes focus on building strong foundations before exam pressure arrives.

New classes for Year 10 students and ambitious Year 9 students are now open:

📚 Monday 5.30pm – AQA English Language

📚 Monday 6.30pm – AQA English Literature

📚 Wednesday 4pm – AQA English Language

Not sure whether now is the right time to start?

It’s not too late to watch the recording of my FREE Year 10 AQA English Language Masterclass, where I explain exactly what examiners are looking for and why Year 10 is such an important year for building confidence.

DM “MASTERCLASS” and I’ll send you the recording and details of the classes.

One of my students started working with me in Year 10.

Now, heading into Year 11, she feels confident, prepared and capable in GCSE English instead of overwhelmed.

Recently, she achieved her highest ever mock grade:
🎉 Grade 8

The biggest difference wasn’t last minute cramming.
It was consistency.

Week by week, she built:
✔ stronger analysis skills
✔ better exam technique
✔ confidence under timed conditions

As a GCSE examiner, I can honestly say students who start building these skills earlier tend to feel far calmer when Year 11 begins.

That’s why I always encourage parents not to wait until mock panic starts.

June is the perfect time to begin.

I’m running a FREE Year 10 AQA English Language Masterclass:
📅 Saturday 30th May
⏰ 10am

Most parents wait until:
❌ a disappointing mock result
❌ stress before exams
❌ their child loses confidence

But as a GCSE examiner, I can tell you:
by the time students are visibly struggling in English, they are usually already behind in analysis skills.

AQA GCSE English Language is cumulative.
If students never fully master analysis in Year 10, Year 11 becomes stressful very quickly.

That’s why June is the BEST time to build confidence.

My FREE Year 10 AQA English masterclass will show students:
✔ what examiners actually reward
✔ how to analyse properly
✔ the mistakes keeping students stuck
