Students from the Class of 2025 can now collect their Design Technology NEA practical projects and folders.

Please email Mrs Gilbert: [email protected] to request the work, 48 hours before you would like to collect it from reception.

Any work not collected by 19 December will be recycled.

Parent Information Evening – Supporting your child with their reading in KS3 and KS4

Wednesday 19 November 2025, 5pm-6pm in the Soham Village College Library

We would like to invite you to join our new parent information evening that is designed to help you support your child with their extra-curricular reading journey.

Reading at home is vitally important in helping your child progress academically at school, as well as providing incredible benefits such as improved mental health, job prospects and future earning potential.

Soham Village College promotes reading for pleasure throughout our curriculum and library provision, but this also requires support from home to help create a lifelong love of reading;

· Do you feel your child should be reading more at home, but you are not sure where to start?

· Are you lost when trying to decide what books to buy now they have left primary school?

· Does your child struggle with their reading fluency and you have questions about how to support them at home?

· Do you suspect your child might have dyslexic tendencies and you would like to learn more about how to help them?

We are delighted to be able to offer this brand-new evening information session to offer you advice and information so that we can work together to support your child’s reading journey.

During the evening, we will have the following people available to speak with you about any questions you may have:

· Miss MacIntyre (Deputy Headteacher and English Teacher)
· Mrs McKenzie (Deputy Director of English)
· Mrs Cooper (Hub Manager and Literacy Interventions Lead)
· Mrs Webb (Soham Village College Librarian)

· We will also have students available to chat to about the benefits reading brings them.

Please feel free to bring younger children along if needed, as we will have a small selection of toys and suitable books available. Free refreshments will also be available for all attendees.

All GCSE Art students from the class of 2025 can collect their artwork from Monday 10 November.
