Summer session number one complete. A mix of maths tasks, spelling games, verbal reasoning activities and my daughter even decided to join us today!

All good things must come to an end and that certainly is the case with this young man. After four years of tuition, doing an extra year after primary school because we got along so well, and officially my longest serving pupil, we’ve had our last lesson before he starts year 8 in September. I know he will go on to do great things and wish Connor all the best. And thank you so much for my present - enjoying a cold one now 🍺

Times tables underpin so many different aspects of mathematics. All children learn in different ways. Some might enjoy the vibrant, lively approach of websites such as Times Table Rock Stars whilst others might want more of a straightforward systematic approach.
These websites focuses on rehearsing the times tables in sequence, then out of sequence, followed with a number of other activities that will promote the learning and understanding of the times tables.

In a recent session we looked at a selection of words and the children had to work out which two are the odds ones out - the ones that don’t ‘fit’ with the other three. This is one of the many areas of verbal reason we cover to prepare for the Kent Test
