🦁🐧 We’re off to London Zoo! 🦒🐒

Join Al Miftah Kids on Sunday 25th October for a fun-filled day exploring London Zoo!

From lions and giraffes to penguins and plenty of other fascinating animals, it’ll be a great opportunity for our children to enjoy a day out together, learn about Allah’s amazing creation and make some lovely memories with their friends.

We’ll be travelling together by train from Slough, and parents are more than welcome to join us too! 😊

📚 Building the foundations from the very beginning

This week, our Pre-School pupils have been learning about some of the most important things every Muslim should know.

They were introduced to the Five Pillars of Islam, with a cutting and sticking activity to help them remember each one and talk about what they mean.

The class also discussed Surah Al-Ikhlas, using it to begin learning about who Allah is and understanding that Allah is One.

Especially at the beginning of the school year, we want to make sure our younger pupils have these foundations in place before building on them throughout the year, In’Sha’Allah.

And when you’re only in Years 1 and 2, a little cutting and sticking definitely helps too! ✂️😊

📚 We’re back! Alhamdulillah ❤️

Our new school year is now underway and it’s been lovely seeing our classrooms full again, welcoming back familiar faces as well as lots of new pupils joining us for the first time.

There’s always a real excitement at the start of a new year as pupils meet their teachers, settle into their new classes and begin another year of learning and development together.

And if you haven’t enrolled yet, it’s not too late to join us.

We’re still accepting enrolments in classes where spaces remain, from Reception right through to our older pupils.

📚 Weekend School starts this Sunday!

The new school year begins this Sunday, 13th September, In’Sha’Allah, and there’s still time to enrol your child.

Alhamdulillah, some classes are already full and spaces are becoming limited across a number of our remaining classes, so if you’ve been planning to enrol, now is the time to secure your child’s place.

Our Sunday classes run from Reception through to Year 13, with a structured Islamic curriculum that helps pupils develop their knowledge, character and confidence as young Muslims growing up in Britain.

📚 September classes are filling up!

Alhamdulillah, with the new school year about to begin next Sunday, some of our Weekend School classes are now full and several others only have a few spaces remaining.

The table above shows our current availability across all age groups and both Sunday sessions, so you can quickly see which options are still available for your child.

If you’ve been meaning to enrol, we’d recommend securing your child’s place soon, particularly for the classes showing their last few spaces.

📚 Looking for Islamic classes for your older child this September?

As children get older, their Islamic education needs to grow with them.

Our Upper School gives pupils the opportunity to explore their Deen in greater depth, while developing the confidence to discuss what they learn, ask questions, research topics and present their understanding to others.

Alongside their core Islamic Studies, pupils take part in projects, presentations and practical activities that help them think about how their learning applies to their own lives as young Muslims growing up in Britain.

We want our older pupils to leave the classroom with more than information. We want them to develop good character, confidence in their Muslim identity and a genuine understanding of their Deen that they can carry with them as they grow, In’Sha’Allah.

These project presentations are just one example of how we encourage that development throughout the year.

💧 Learning how to make Wudu, one step at a time!

Our Early Years pupils have been learning all about Wudu, including why we make it and how to perform each step correctly.

For our youngest pupils, aged 4–5, lessons are kept practical, interactive and age-appropriate, so they can begin building good Islamic habits from the very start of their learning journey.

And of course, there was plenty of hands-on practice too! 💦

If your child is starting Reception this September, now is a great time to begin their Islamic education alongside children their own age.

📚 What does a year at Al Miftah Kids actually look like?

Of course, there’s plenty of learning every Sunday, from Seerah, Fiqh and Tafseer to Qur’an, Du’as, Adab and Akhlaq.

But there’s also much more happening throughout the year.

Our pupils research and present their own projects, work towards memorisation achievements, take part in activities and trips, and spend every Sunday learning alongside other Muslim children their age.

Alhamdulillah, another new school year begins very soon and September enrolments are currently open for children aged 4–13.

🏔️ Alhamdulillah, what a weekend in the Peak District!

Three days away with our Al Miftah families, with plenty packed in from beginning to end.

We took on rock climbing and abseiling, explored the Peak District, cooked and ate together and had Qur’an circles and reminders throughout the weekend.

The children made new friends, the adults got to spend time with other families and we all had a chance to get away from the usual routine for a few days.

Jazak’Allahu khayran to everyone who joined us and helped make the weekend such an enjoyable one.

May Allah accept it from everyone involved and allow us all to benefit from the reminders and memories we came home with. Ameen ❤️
