This week, Year 2 travelled back in time to experience life as a child in Victorian times! From chanting times tables with our strict Headteacher 👩‍🏫 to learning the art of sewing by hand🧵, our pupils stepped into the shoes (and bonnets!) of Victorian schoolchildren.

They also:
🎲 Played traditional Victorian playground games
🍰 Baked a delicious Victorian sponge cake
🏫 Discovered how different school life was over 100 years ago!

It was a fantastic hands-on history day, bringing the past to life in the most memorable way!

In RE, Reception class have been learning about a range of festivals and celebrations. Last week they covered the very colourful Hindu festival of Holi! They worked on their expressive art skills with powder paint and water.

We have been busy preparing for the Big Schools' Birdwatch! The children have made birdfeeders this week in the hope to attract more birds to our playground. They have also learnt about different types of birds, sketched birds and made some birds out of paper plates. What fun!
