A brilliant accolade for our school that we will cherish and work on to achieve even further.

Today we commemorated Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Shaheedi (Martyrdom) Day by holding a special Assembly led by the Year 6 pupils explaining the history of this Shaheedi and singing Shabads that relate to the Sakhi (story).

This was followed by holding a Chabeel outside for all parents, children and staff to cool them down on this warm day in June. Please see the attached infographic which will explain the significance of Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Shaheedi in more detail.

On Friday 22nd May we had an Ambassador, Genavieve Kaur, from The Sikh Games come to Khalsa Primary School as a special guest and do an Assembly to both KS1 and KS2 in the Gurdwara to introduce the children to The Sikh Games and what it is about. This was described as being like the Olympics but is for Sikhs specifically and whoever else wants to join.

This is open to children to join and Genavieve Kaur explained the different sports that children and adults can participate in and also come to watch. She showed the ages that children can take part in for different sports.

Our school is full of very sporty children thanks to Mrs. Rakhra as our PE Teacher. It would be amazing to see our children show the Khalsa Values of Aspiration and Achievement at The Sikh Games this summer and come back with medals to show in September.😊

A huge well done to all of our Year 6 pupils for completing SATs week! Each morning began with a positive start, enjoying breakfast at school and prayers in the gurdwara, helping everyone feel calm and ready for the day ahead.

They have worked incredibly hard all year in preparation, showing determination, resilience, and a real commitment to doing their best. Throughout the week, they continued to demonstrate a mature and focused attitude, and we are so proud of everything they have achieved!

Well done to our dedicated Year 6 teachers who have worked tirelessly throughout the year to prepare our pupils for SATs and get them ready for one of the most important examinations in their life so far.
