The Cotswold Gardening School offers day courses in garden design, planting design and horticulture, as well as a One Year Professional Garden Design Diploma course. Quality learning in a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We are based in Gloucestershire, in the grounds of historic Gossington Hal. All courses are held in the old dairy, entirely restored and offering comfortable accommodation for study.

🍁🍂 Our One Year Professional Garden Design Diploma students have begun work on their second project garden, starting with a site visit and plenty of careful measuring at a family-owned hotel nestled in the Cotswolds.
They’ll be working hard over the festive season to develop their designs, ready to present to our client in mid-January. Keep up the great work, everyone! 🍁🍂

🌿🌺Our popular six week ONLINE courses in Garden- and Planting Design are back again, starting on Monday 24th February.

Practice the process and principles that underpin great garden design on the Online Introduction to Garden Design course, or create a professional planting plan for your own garden on the Online Planning and Planting Borders course.

All content is delivered through downloadable pre-recorded videos and pdf-handbooks, offering the flexibility to fit the course in around your own schedule. Each course has its own designated virtual classroom where you can ask questions, post your project work for lots of feedback from your tutor - Caroline Tatham - and socialize with other students on the course.

A fun but informative day course that will take you through the basic principles of professional garden design.
While we can't design your garden for you in a day, we will be covering all of the steps involved in the process of professional garden design. There are also real case study examples, providing lots of inspirational ideas.
