Eslaforde Nursery

Toddlers and Preschool had a wonderful time learning and watching the Caterpillars grow into butterflies.
Both rooms enjoyed stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Caterpillar and learning the song There's a tiny caterpillar on a leaf.
Preschool also learnt the letter sound C and letter B, made Very Hungry Caterpillar crafts and played with caterpiller playdough. Then made up names for each of the butterflies when they hatched 🦋 🐛

A lovely local business The Bairns Play Cafe are hosting some lovely play sessions for children starting school in September.

Today is the day our older Pre School children find out which schools they are going to 😀

Exciting times for all of our children.

Next term we will be working on "school readiness" and are looking forward to meeting the reception teachers when they visit.

All the children had a fabulous time on World Book Day.
Lots of fun costumes from both our adults and children, different activities including crafts and baking, and of course lots of stories.

We have had some friends join us in PreSchool this week.

Gina owns chickens so kindly brought in some chicks for us to look after for a short while.

The chileren have enjoyed learning how to take care of them and helping to feed them. They have also loved holding them. 🐥🐣

It is going to be a sad day when Gina takes them back home again.

Baby Room
Some of our older babies have started to engage in pretend play using the resources in the role-play area.🍳🍚
We have also been supporting physical development with large and small movements. 🛝 🥄

Toddler Room
Have enjoyed messy play and exploring using hands and feet. 👐👣
They have also been learning the Bear Hunt story and doing different activities.🐻

Preschool have been doing some great phonics work over the past few weeks. 🔤
So far they have covered S,A and P. They have enjoyed Silly soup and learning the phonics sounds.
They have made their own sandwiches, read Alan and Aligator story and made treasure maps. They made their own tea, used scissors to cut out shapes and made astronaut masks. 🏴‍☠️☕️◻️
