Do you have a left handed writer?

Handwriting practise can be tricky and frustrating as they either rub off/smudge the whiteboard pen/pencil as they write, or they can't see what they are supposed to be writing because their hand covers it.

These practise sheets are ideal as they start from the RIGHT and you work backwards!

This young lady requested to practise the 4 operations with negative numbers.....she loves making a poster and so this was what we did!

I love her creativity and all the jottings going on. A great session!

Who doesn't love solving quadratic equations? Even when they need to be rearranged first 💪 well done to my year 10s for nailing it!

Here are some other pics of work last week- featuring maths mats to keep those skills sharp, arrays, factors and fact families, rotation using tracing paper for 11+, learning some advanced vocabulary for 11+, and some amazing narrative writing with a halloween theme to include figurative language and imagery 🙌👏

GOOD LUCK!

Another busy week!

A space project using our non fiction reading skills.

Fact families-I call these 'buy 1 get 3 free!'

Cross numbers-great for using those fact families and inverse operations

Reflection and rotation for 11+

And some subtraction using the column method specifically targeting those zeros! Using different colours definitely helped here as all that renaming can be confusing!

What a week!

The new year 5s have been mastering rotation and reflection for 11+ non verbal reasoning.

Ks2 maths have been looking at subtraction where there are some sneaky zeros involved.

Some super work on phase 4 ccvc and cvcc words.

And M has been working on some number mastery by solving some tricky number riddles and puzzles.

Great week!
