What a fabulous Outdoor Learning Week 1/2H have had! ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒฟ

Our young learners have been exploring, creating and discovering in the great outdoors.

We used the sunshine to tell the time and investigate how shadows change, creating fantastic shape shadows along the way. During music, we got creative with colourful ribbons, letting the wind inspire our movements and performances. We also made beautiful story stones to spark imaginative storytelling and explored texture by creating wonderful bark rubbings.

To top off a fantastic week of outdoor adventures, everyone enjoyed a refreshing ice pop.๐Ÿฆโ˜€๏ธ

It has been a week full of curiosity, creativity and hands-on learningโ€”we've loved making the most of our outdoor environment! ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ“š

As part of their Geography learning, Year 5 have been exploring the characteristics of the temperate climate zone, identifying native trees and their leaves and writing postcards home from a climate zone.

Using the leaves they had identified and collected, the children then created some beautiful nature-inspired artwork, transforming them into stunning leaf print butterflies. ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿƒ

As part of Outdoor learning week, 6H did a House Competition style litter pick. They managed to pick up 2.5kg of rubbish between them from around the school grounds, making the areas much tidier. In amongst all the things found, there are a lot of Tupperware pots and lids found around the playgrounds. We do regularly ask the children to check they are taking home their own tubs so if you recognise any of them, please ask your children to collect from the benches on the KS2 playground. Thanks ๐Ÿ˜

Our chicks have started hatching, and the children have been captivated by every moment of the journey.

Watching the tiny chicks emerge from their eggs has been a wonderful learning experience, sparking curiosity, excitement, and plenty of smiles.
