Kiln and Heatwave News
Due to the heatwave we are not firing our big kilns currently. Apologies if you are waiting for work but it's unsafe for our kilns, venue and humans to fire up. Although they are well insulated, they still kick out additional heat and fumes and in the current temperatures it can't dissipate causing both heat and unsafe fumes to hang around. Overheating risks delicate electronics overheating.
If your work is done we will be in touch. If we haven't contacted you yet, we close on Friday for a week so it will be September when we next are able to fire them. Sorry for any delays but safety must come first

NEW for September: Tuesday evening 7-9.30pm. 7 week course for beginners (and students with some experience). The class is extending by half an hour to 2.5 hours to incorporate a thorough intro to clay: A hand-building and throwing. You can choose a project each week from either a hand-build or the wheel. The course will give you a thorough intro the basics of pottery, working with Clay Mill founder, Ammie. We only have two places left.

We have just one space left for this weekends intensive throwing. I love delivering these sessions, everyone makes good progress over two days intensive throwing, digging deeper into techniques, ironing out issues and finding new ways to throw that are personalised to participants.

Eight years ago today we began work on the old studio. Soon we will be celebrating eight years of teaching but our celebrations are in the new space. So much work went into both spaces and so proud of our community of potters 😍
